for those of you with 2 or more computers, this program is awesome:

Multiplicity Pro

http://www.stardock.com/products/multiplicity/

like a KM switch between computers but with copy and paste (including files) functionality as well.

only catch is that it costs $50, which I think is a bit high for what it does, but seeing as there are no alternatives available (that let you copy files)... it's worth it. I mean you want to be as productive as possible when trading.

Benefits over Synergy (which I was using before and is free) are:

- stable on Vista
- lets you copy and paste files between computers!

Negatives compared to Synergy:
- not cross platform... only windows [obviously this is only important for some people]

run 2 copies of MT4, one on each screen; OR

maximize one MT4 window across both screens and then arrange the chart windows so you have on on each chart.

Hello Guys!

Basic source of problem in trading vast amount of information we must process regularly. French economist George Anderla has measured changes in the rate of information flow with which we human being must cope. He concluded that information flow double in the 1,500 years between the time of jesus and leonardo da Vinci. Now computer age reduced the doubling time to about 5 years and today's computer offering electronic bulletin board. DVDs, fiber optics, the internet and so on., the amount of information to which we are exposed currently doubles in about a year or less.
Researcher estimate that human, with what we currently use of our brain potential, can take in only 1 to 2 percent of the visual information available at any one time. and for traders and investors the situation is at an extreme. A trader or investor, looking at every market in the world simultaneously, could easily have about millions bits of information coming at him or her every second. Many traders have two to four computer screens operating simultaneously. and since there are usually some market open around the world at all times, the information flow does no stop. some misguided traders actually stay glued to their trading screens, trying to process as much information as possible for as long their brain will permit. Cause lots of stress it is bad for your trading. If you think this not true just regard this one a big BS. Happy trading...

check out this fully automated system. He has twenty four 21” Samsung LCD monitors, two quad processor servers, three independent real time data feeds, voice activation or orders.

Voice activation order would go like this. "Sell Microsoft Five April Calls strike 25 at fifty cents limit now" After the system prints the order trader confirms it by saying "TRANSMIT".

break down being 20% equities, 70% options, 5% futures, 5% FOREX.

He has proprietary gauges that determine “exhaustion of the stock sentiment”.

We currently have two traders controlling this. But we are building four more of these stations with the total staff up to 11 traders. There are 4 people in tech support and engineering , 3 scientists and 3 support staff (accountants etc).

Each set up he has costs less then what they make in one week. Imagine that. Firm is currently doing 50mil and jumping to 100 this summer. They started with 6mil capital.

The trading process looks something like this:

First, our robotic system does the latent semantic analysis of the securities we are trading to determine an overall sentiment for the security. Then the system produces possible entries on the underlying and related option chains to produce option constructions that are most appropriate for the current situation. Those orders are placed automatically on those 20 monitors along with the intermediate sentiment analysis that is based on current supply/demand spectrums to help traders to verify those orders and release them to live accounts (4 accounts). As the orders getting filled another orders (exits or correction orders) are getting populated and presented to traders. Along with all of that the news robots produce the current news analysis (120 different feeds) and prevent the traders from acting on some "hot" situations. The positions are monitored automatically and traders getting alerts on all the positions changes and could implement "repair" strategies (if needed) produced by "repair" robots.
Obviously its more complex but it will give you an idea.

This is not my station but a guy out of Canada...

If you are running Windows XP, you have the capibility to manage up to 10 monitors without having to acquire software.

i zoomed in a little, looks like you're reading FF on your laptop. i like some of the books you're reading - bigalow's candle book (underrated IMO) and larry harris' trading book.
