I'm doing research on the indicator CCI, I'd love to hear from those who use it, exactly how you use it, and how you pair it up with other indicators, if any.

Quoting bundyraiderDislikedI was trading the Woodies strategies not long ago. As per a tutorial on the Woodies CCI Club web site.
Combined it with reversal candles and found it very useful, especially if you filter trades down to ideal CCI patterns and not "almost a..." signals. Woody recommends ignoring price, but to me that seemed dumb. I don't believe I'd have been as successful doing it that way either.
I was raking in some good winners to loosers.
Abandoned trading the method. Didn't suit me. I was having off days. Too often. Mostly because it just didn't Gel with me and it showed in the results.
I also couldn't trade any time frames other than 15 mins. or 5mins (signals worked on 1 min, but were unprofitable.) I don't want a method that requires me to be so close to the PC all the time anyway.
I've moved on, but I occasionly bring the standard CCI up to pick rallys/dips. (combining divergence and candle patterns). ...experimenting mostly.Ignored
Quoting MarkjDislikedHave you looked at the 50CCI? with a 14 turbo as used on DrBobs longer term plays.
May suit you longer term, less screen time style. It's worth the read.
CheersIgnored
Quoting KeysDislikedI've been checking out CCI plotted from momentum bars and they look really promising. The trend line breaks are freakishly accurate.Ignored

Quoting ThrulineDislikedHey, Keys:
Is this a separate indicator based on momentum bars? If so, please share.
I use the 50/14. It works very well on the hourly and above. I use it with MACD to catch divergence-based turns.Ignored
Quoting KeysDislikedThe momentum bars are not time based. A new bar is created only after price has moved up or down a certain amount. I attached a GBP/USD chart from 12/13 from around 2:30am PST. The 2nd chart is time based for comparison (no indicator). This was during the retail sales release, so a time chart would cram a lot of action into a few bars which is harder to read. I'm sure you could spot these TLBs using normal time based charts, but they really seem to pop out at you when using momentum bars. Often there are 3 or more points defining the trend line, vs. 2 or rarely more with time based. I'd recommend looking at both time and momentum at the same time for the best picture.Ignored
