I have no problem getting EFX tick-charts with ESignal or Neoticker. Must be a Quotetracker issue.

Someone from QT support told me that tick data isn't available for forex on QT.

"If volume is not shown there will be no tick chart. Forex does not report volume - right?"

I'm looking to trade directly through whatever charting plateform I use. Look forward to Omega but can't wait. Don't like using Oanda data and trading through EFX Navigator. Still trying to find out for sure if Ninjatrader can be used with EFX data and direct trading through EFX.

...actually having the Navigator show the exact same prices as the Intellicharts is just like trading through the platform...duh! So thanks I might go that route. But Ninjatrader would be extra good so will try to find out for sure if works with EFX.

Actually, I have to still use Navigator to place the trades. Intellicharts links to EFX's data feed, but it's only for use of the charts, it doesn't place the trades, unfortunately.

I use two monitors (one monitor has the Intellicharts, and the other Navigator), which makes it much easier to compare the data and look back-and-forth between both screens. I have noticed that there is some lagging once-in-a-while between the Intellicharts EFX data feed and Navigator's FXBoard1. Most of the time it's fine, but there are occasions when it's not exacting pip-for-pip.

Also, I've encountered a few times where the charts weren't updating the data, so I've learned to always double-check the price on FXBoard1 when placing a trade. This is rare though, but it does happen. When this occurs, I go to the FREE online Intellicharts via EFX's website and check the data there. The data between the FREE Intellicharts and my Desktop version of Intellicharts evidently is not the exact same feed even though they are both EFX's data feeds, because I have seen weird candlestick occurrences on one chart and not on the other (I have posted about that in the past in this thread, lol). Unfortunately, the FREE version doesn't have tick charts, so that one won't do you any good.

I don't use tick charts, so I'm not sure if this will be a problem for you. I use Limit+TTO or Limit+Stop orders when placing trades, so I'm never needing the data off the charts to be perfect. If you use tick charts for scalping or news trading, I'm sure you'd need the charts to be more accurate/exacting.

It'll be great when Omega goes live, then we'll not have to worry about 3rd party charts and stuff like this

Is any one using QuoteTracker for EFX/MBTF? If so, do you like it and is it user friendly?

You make very good points and I actually agree with you and actually my MAC will run windows xp if I chose to install it, but I choose not to.
So I will stay with my current Broker.

The recent webinar confirms a few things that have been discussed recently on this thread.

Phase 1 : omega will be Mac compliant; it will work with pretty much any OS that supports a modern day web browser as far as I could tell. It is not programmed in java but uses a proprietary tech. It will include basic charting with the common basic indicators. Wireless solution also will be released. New web site will launch. October 1st is the estimated release date.

Phase 2 : Charting improved with increased indicators. I think the back testing and EA's programming language will be released in this phase as well. christmasish release date

Phase 3 : Server side automated trading. Release date soon after phase 2

Yes. I'm using it with the efx demo account. I like it. Did not locate any manuals , so it took me two days to learn how to get the charts the rainbow way.
For the 5sec chart, you have to type in 0.08 in the custom frequency option.
For the desired currency pair, manually type in the symbol. eg eur/jpy, aud/jpy (forward slash required).
When you first load it, there will be no data. You have to let it run and let it collect the data to display the chart.

By my understanding EFX is Part of MB Trading, correct?? surely u guys might say YES,
there one thing i like to know coz my bit curious, from the CFTC financial data i get shows that MB TRADING FUTURES INC. only hold 1.1m net capital. so how much capital EFX has?

Can someone clarify this?

I signed up with EFX but was mbtrading. When I asked, the impression I got from the answer is they belong to the same family, therefore I guess they mean the same thing. But now you guys are saying EFX has a different program?

Every trading-day, it will have two maintenance period, and you can't log into it during this time.

CxL means cancel, like cancel your open orders.

MBTX means the server of MBTF dealing with forex, has no particual meanings.

GTC a.k.a GOOD TILL CANCEL. This is default settings for "open orders", means your orders will exist until you cancel it manually or executed accordingly.

Part means "part of the positions", have nothig to do with your trading, basically.

you mentioned there will also be a wireless version of omega, will it work on any wap enabled cell phone or only on certain types, like blackberry, motorola q or iphone?
