I have been learning Bob Volman's M5 trading strategies (PB, PBC, PR, TFF) for a few months now (Understanding Price Action 5 min chart). I backtested the Jan-May for last year, 2025, on eur/usd and have about 47 backtested trades (on FX replay). My win percentage ranges between 48-52% as I trade and I rarely hit 2RR (avg being 1.01RR) so I am glad I found this forum. I noticed I wasn't finding as many good setups (and I wasn't performing as well as I had expected/ how I started off), which now I am glad to have learnt is because of the daily pip range of the eur/usd now being almost half what it was when Volman published his book 10 or so years ago.
I have been looking into either using other pairs and/or switching to 70 tick chart. Any advice on this would be great! And also, I wondered about if I were to switch to tick charts is it a good idea to read Volman's other book?
If anyone is still active on this thread, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Would love to have a chat and discuss his strategies and any tips/mistakes any of the traders in a more experienced position may be willing to share.
