i am at a pos of +46, and i want to place an imaginary trade of 10,000 lots, SELL, at approx 1.1632

target is 1.1590, for total pips projected of 42 pips at $100,000 profit per pip, for a total projected profit of $4.2 million dollars.

edit: another way of looking at this is that it requires $233.00 of margin to earn $1.00 of profit per pip, so the simple math would be for me to decide how much profit i want to earn per pip and then just multiply that value by 233 and that gives me the margin required value.

for example, if i want to earn $1,000.00 per pip, then i multiply that by 233 to figure out that i need 233X1,000=$233,000 margin required to earn $1,000.00 per pip.

also, my imaginary trade that was playing for $100,000 profit per pip would have closed at 1.1609 for approx 33 pips, for a profit of 33x100,000 or $3.3 million profit.

edit: that imaginary trade opened at 1632, is that correct? and closed at 1.1609 for 23 pips at $100,000 per pip =2.3 million profit?

ie, the trading volume and open positions only reflect the activity of oanda traders... which is probably a fraction of all brokers trading activity worldwide,.. ie, these numbers are next to meaningless.

i did my margin math all wrong earlier.

minimum margin requirement is $23.30 approx to open a smallest possible eurusd trade of 0.01 lots which gets you ten cents($0.10) per pip of profit.

so, to earn $1.00 per pip, it requires a 0.10 lot trade which requires approx $233.00 of margin to earn one dollar per pip.

so, to earn ten thousand dollars per pip, do this to calculate margin requirement: 10,000 x 233 = $2.33 million dollars margin required to play for $10k per pip on eurusd.

...and, if i am not mistaken... 1,000 lots equals $10,000.00 PER PIP.

please note that other currency pairs have different margin requirements, but i am only interested in eurusd.

also, i am going to place another high profit trade(imaginary/demo) that will play $10k per pip... imaginary means that i am only doing this on paper.. no demo account, no nothing.. my demo account that i am using cant place that large of a trade anyways, cuz it would need minimum $2.5 million... or maybe more..


to play for $10,000.00 per pip requires approx $2.33 million dollars for margin at 50:1.. account size should be three or four million.

right now, my bot says that i am 42 pips above my target price of 1.15914

consider this as an imaginary trade, only executed on paper.. (but just as easy to fail/lose, if i was not correct)...

42 pips multiplied by $10,000.00 gives me $420,000.00 profit, of which i would keep one third and the remaining two thirds would go to the owner of the traded capital..

it does actually look technically fancy to show a bar chart of volume and open interest..

...but it is a useless chart..

want me to prove my point?

ask him how to use that chart to decide if you are going to buy or sell and for how many pips? takeprofit? stoploss?

if you cant use that volume and open interest to reliably answer the above questions in bold, then it is useless as a trading indicator or even as a tool.

...but, it does look fancy..

we have the imaginary trade(detailed in a recent previous post), with a target price of 1591, if i remember correctly... $10,000 per pip... ONE THOUSAND LOTS.. projected total pips achieved: 42? anyways, 42 times 10,000 $420,000 projected profit.
