When this GBPCAD was identified, there was no prior high to keep price trapped within the structure, which means pairs like this can push away even further. The key is to remain confident in the analysis, not break rank, and stay with the trade. Reaching the FVG might take 1 to 2 days. In this case, it happened same day, as we saw with this unbounded pair (given the absence of a previous high).

Or with pairs that do have the previous day high or low keeping the structure trapped, it can take 1 to 2 days to reach the FVG. Since this is an intraday method, the trades would generally all be closed before the end of the day. The FVG is a target, but really it's more a direction to trade into than a hard level.

Based on yesterday's findings, I don't expect a major pullback since the previous low is already so close. I definitely don't expect any erratic moves on these pairs, but there can be pullbacks, as was the case with yesterday's examples.

And sometimes price just heads straight for the FVG. It's hard to know which way it'll go, but the important thing is I don't expect any erratic behavior. Even when there are pullbacks, like yesterday, I still expect price to go towards the FVG within 1 to 2 days.

Today's pairs so far. It's tempting to try this on a prop firm, but I'm not sure if they have rules about placing multiple trades that could be considered gambling.

Maybe Fridays are especially good for this FVG hunting method, and there's actually some logic to it. A lot of traders close out positions before the weekend to avoid holding risk over the gap, which tends to cause sharper, more impulsive moves. That kind of price action leaves behind inefficiencies and unfilled gaps, which is exactly what FVG setups feed on. Liquidity also thins out later in the day, especially after London closes, so moves get amplified and you tend to see cleaner displacement candles. Weekly highs and lows often get swept on Fridays too, as the bigger players take out resting liquidity before the close, which gives FVGs a better shot at getting filled within the same session.

Decided to give it a try yesterday - and it's kinda less stressful than my normal lower timeframe trading sessions.
Tried it with a small account risking 5% per trade - and only placing 1 trade per setup.

I personally moved on to this approach https://www.forexfactory.com/thread/...currency-index to test it out. I prefer it because it's easier, requires less effort, can be known well in advance the day before, and so far it's been accurate.
