INTUITION

In trading, intuition is not a magical, innate gift, but rather a "trained gut" that develops after thousands of hours of screen time, experience, and pattern recognition. It acts as a form of rapid, subconscious pattern recognition, allowing experienced traders to sense market shifts, momentum changes, or potential reversals before they become obvious on charts or indicators.

When Intuition Comes Into Play:

  1. After Achieving "Unconscious Competence": True, reliable intuition typically emerges after 2-3 years of active, consistent practice. It is built on a foundation of mastered technical or fundamental analysis, not in place of it.
  2. When Markets are Rapidly Changing: When conditions are unclear, highly volatile, or moving too quickly for slow, logical analysis, intuition helps make faster, real-time decisions.
  3. As an Early Warning System: It often appears as a "gut feeling" that a trade "feels wrong," signaling to a trader to exit or avoid a position, even if all technical rules are met.
  4. During Nuanced Market Contexts: Intuition is used to refine entries and exits, such as recognizing when momentum is slowing or identifying a false breakout.

Key Considerations for Using Intuition:

  1. Differentiate from Emotion: Intuition is calm and based on past experience, whereas emotional trading (fear/greed) is impulsive.
  2. Do Not Use Early: For novice traders, acting on "intuition" is often just gambling or emotional trading, which can lead to significant losses.
  3. Use as a Complement: Intuition should support, not replace, a structured trading plan and risk management.
  4. Validate via Journaling: To ensure it is real intuition, traders should document their gut feelings to review if they were accurate over time.

EURNZD

Had my first scalp on this pair in the early hours. Price making a pullback and could likely reverse. Will be on the look out if that happens and take short scalps to target level.

Quiet day for Gold, still within 4760 - 4670 low range and failed to break back into channel. Doji was a decoy to make it look like price was going to gather momentum to the upside and yet could not still break past 4760.

Lets see what tomorrow brings to the charts.
