The push into the close yesterday was purely driven by Trump’s comments when he said the war would be over soon. That pushed EURUSD up to 1.1646. He probably doesn’t believe that himself — he just had to say it because the markets were sliding and he wanted to calm things down. I’m fine with that, because it gives me the opportunity to add to my short positions at higher levels, since I don’t believe the situation down there will be resolved anytime soon. The damage already done is substantial, and in the end Europeans will feel the consequences the most, especially since Europe is already structurally weakening.
That should continue to put downward pressure on EURUSD. Therefore, I will use any rallies for medium- to longer-term shorts, although short-term long scalps are not excluded. From a technical perspective, I expect at most a move toward 1.1660–1.1680 before it turns lower again, otherwise it could start falling already from current levels. My downside target is around the 1.1470 area. Given the current macro backdrop, it would surprise me if EURUSD managed to climb above 1.17. That’s my view.

Quick D1 Outlook According to my crucial level at ~1.1573 I am thinking out loud: If today's candle closes above 1.1573, bears will have a problem tomorrow because that level might turn back into support as it was before this week's gappy opening... Therefore, I want to see where current D1 candle will close tonight.. It matters! {image}
