Take profits for counter-trend trading on price exhaustion are clear to me: the 15 and 25 EMAs on the M1, then the M2. Nothing more.

On big moves like today, I use Fibonacci retracements.

In immediate trend trading on lower timeframes, identifying the TP isn't always easy. The last HH or LL, obviously—but quite often, the price doesn't reach it. It’s harder, and often even impossible, to scale into the position to improve the overall break-even price. It’s a real problem.

Same process, on M5 , this time. The resistance is very clear on H12, and so is the timing. TP: M5 EMA 15. The trade lasted 15 minutes.

Edit:
I have no qualms about identifying my reaction levels on higher timeframes that others tend to overlook. I pay close attention to the Chinkou, which often reveals excellent reaction levels that go unnoticed—such as contact with a candle wick, a candle body, the top of the Kumo, or a flat Kijun.

I wasn’t very available for trading this morning, but I still managed to take advantage of strong bullish momentum.

In these scenarios, support levels are usually found on M5 or M15. I took the first test of the M5 Kijun and the first test of the M5 SSB.

On M1 chart, price action was struggling to break through moving averages that were very steeply stacked to the upside. Both trades lasted only a few minutes.

It’s interesting to compare the green EMAs a bit later: they compress, start sloping downward, and tighten up—indicating that the bullish momentum is over. This is further confirmed by the sharp downward slope of SMA 100.

The 200-points daily target has been exceeded. Since the market isn't very interesting today—moving quite slowly in its oscillations—I’m going to turn off my computer. The indicator in the gray circle shows that no positions are currently open.

On the DAX, 200 points are reached quickly, usually in the morning before 11:00 AM.

I will post from time to time if I feel a trade can be educationally useful. That’s what matters most to me: doing very short-term trading, but not at random—backing up trades with simple, objective reasoning without overcomplicating things with all the rules of Ichimoku.

There was a fairly easy trade this morning: a flat H1 Kijun with an M1 overshoot; that works very well. The TP is short, and you mustn't forget what the chart is showing: price is pushing up strongly. But this kind of trade is easy to spot.

End of day.

Every trade is based on Ichimoku levels. I open fewer positions, but they are better placed. My TP are tight, which is more than offset by running multiple positions. All my entries use low leverage relative to my account size. This is a personal choice; others prefer the opposite—using high leverage and treating their entire account balance as a stop loss. The advantage of low leverage is the lack of stress. The downside: you need patience to grow the account.

The gray and green moving averages are Daryl Guppy's GMMAs. I simply multiplied their periods by 5.

I apply D. Guppy's GMMA principles (spacing, compression, stretch, and orientation).

I’m not going to do anything against this resistance; in the past, I would have sold this major level immediately. Not anymore.

My daily target has already been met (200 points per day). It’s 11:32 AM in France, I’ll be back this afternoon.

The first contact on a very steep Tenkan, on M30 and higher timeframes, is usually a very high-probability trade. The M1 price, overextended in terms of momentum relative to its moving averages, is bound to react.

It’s 9:00 AM in France—the market open—so I’m staying flat, even with a setup like this. But it worked out.

...At the open of this H6 candle, Tenkan surged upward suddenly, two and a half hours ago. Price reacted to it (as seen by the upper wick). This is exactly why you need to keep an eye on higher timeframes. But it’s simple: this H6 Tenkan only moves every 6 hours... I was already in a long position, so it didn't change anything for me. If anything, it actually reinforced my counter-trend trading plan.

A Kumo Anomaly appearing on a large intraday timeframe is a very significant piece of information.

This type of setup tends to pull the price back toward the Kijun.

On the GMMA I use, a strong bearish trend was progressively forming from the start of the morning. You should not trade against the direction of the GMMA, except when facing major levels on higher timeframes. Reminder: my GMMA are set to a 5x multiplier.

The purpose of this thread is to showcase Ichimoku setups that are immediately actionable for very short-term trading.

It also aims to demonstrate the necessity of looking up regularly to check higher timeframes—even the very long-term ones. Navigating by only looking at your feet is never a good idea; you must look around you and toward the horizon.

While this isn't a trading journal, I’ve had some fun this week posting daily point progressions. Yes, it is possible to stack significant points in very short-term intraday trading, provided you remain extremely cautious and attentive.

Ichimoku is often misunderstood or even dismissed. It’s a system that leaves many perplexed. To be fair, its rules of application are complex and can even veer into the absurd with certain instructors.

Let’s keep it simple: potential reaction levels and the position of the Chinkou. We don’t need anything else.

When Chinkou touches a wick for the first time on an M30 timeframe or higher, the lower timeframes pull back significantly. This is an excellent setup.

People often scoff at the Chinkou’s relevance because they don't understand it. In reality, the Chinkou reveals reaction levels that are sometimes barely visible, yet will heavily impact a lower timeframe—especially if it is in overextended momentum. On my charts, the Chinkou is white with a thick line. It must be highly visible.
