This was a losing trade because my entry point was too aggressive, and the numerous long positions prevented me from holding them for long. I'm sharing this trade in the hopes that others won't make the same mistake I did.

Thanks Ginshan , that’s insightful and really highlights the major flaw in the Kof method: blind timing.

It’s a method I apply to my own approach—no Kof for me. Ideally, for immediate counter-trend trading, you enter against a support or resistance level from a higher timeframe, which provides the timing.

With Kof, you stay stuck on the M1 chart and stack poor entries at random, and—more importantly—too early. That lock your average price. This creates an iceberg of bad positions price way too high or too low.

Find your reaction levels however you like... but find them! Everything will go much smoother. When a flow kicks in, our average price is better, we can ride the move much longer, and we can use a correction to exit with minimal loss—or even turn it into an excellent trade.

Market re-started, good opportunity once spread settled down. Done for the day in approximately 15 minutes. Off to bed.

Seemed it might turn as slowed down, so got out at 1.18616 instead of my preferred 1.18564.
However price did go on to reach the initial TP.

How long have you been trading this system against the trend?

its interesting because i feel more easy to find a TP when i go with the trend ...so its the other way round from you;-)

No worries, always happy to chat when around.

What I meant is: in trend trading—take a breakout for example—some traders use things like R1:1, R1:2, or they anchor their TP to the last swing high/low. To me, that always felt a bit arbitrary. Why should the previous high or low have any real influence on where price should go next? It’s just a historical reference point, not a magnet.

I used to rely on the Bollinger Band as my TP, and it worked nicely… until it didn’t. Same situation: it felt systematic at first, but eventually the market conditions changed and the logic behind the TP stopped holding up.

However, as we know, it is what works for you and not anyone else that counts.

Ah, I see, so I agree with you. TP in trend trading at the last high/low or RR 1:2 or so doesn't make sense. Bollinger or Donchian channels make more sense and I use them.

Now we come to the more exciting part: what do you do if your TP is not reached when trading against the trend?

When trading with the trend, I tend to feel that you can afford to make mistakes and the trend will reverse, unlike when trading against the trend.
