good afternoon....

please note.......234.47......is the 61.8 fibo line and ....234.48 is the M-M 3/8 on the 4hr chart and 234.48 is the 6/8 M-M on the 1hr chart....

May see resistance at that level...

As long as we are discussing equity markets. The british market closed basically flat yesterday. The US market was very unsettled, and now the nikkei is down.

I think it is a pretty safe bet that unless the news releases are unusual, the FTSE will be down for friday. I also expect the US markets to be down tomorrow, possibly significantly down. The odds seem to favor GJ moving down through close of market on friday.

If the european exchanges are down at the opening, I plan to place a fairly large short bet and let it run until friday close. Since we are in the midrange of GJ right now, there should be little resistance to it moving down in accordance with equity market movements.
My short is in profit. Looks like I have the Nikkei working for me also
Please tell what you think a downwards target might be for the gbp/jpy. Could it drop to 229 level ...an M3-M1 kind of day...based on some pivots. Thanks Markam....

I am taking a sabbatical leave from trading but I can't help myself from reading the thread. I agree with you onthe fragile state of the markets, including forex. I do not like it but I don't mind if GJ goes down and I missed buying when it was 219 last week, I may as well buy the pair and hold it for carry trade. It is surprising that on Wed, the Swat this week was >100 but last week it was only ~ 78. I wonder how fxcm calculate the swap payment?

Also I wonder when the main trend is downward, making holding long unattractive but that was the case in the 90s..I wonder when it will happen again for GJ? Could it happen soon? Regards, BR

I am not the one to ask about targets. As Aus or Karmo. I just believe it will go down as the markets go down.

Is VT working for anyone? I've seen comments throughout Thursday that it has been up-and-down for some, but I haven't been able to load the platform (demo account) since Wednesday night.

The forum at vtsystems.com is no help. Discussing connectivity or server issues is not permitted, and the brokerage associated with VT may not even be mentioned.

What a shame! VT is an elegant, well-designed program. But what good is it if it's offline? (Rhetorical question only. Please don't tell me to use MT4. I don't like MT4, or the fact that each MT4 platform runs according to the time zone of the brokerage which uses it. So, just venting here ~)

Have you covered the basics (trend lines, Fibo, candles,..) yet?
look like hammer is to be built at the close of 1 hr in 18 minutes. What sign of that?

My VT is currently working but wasn't earlier. I'm glad I don't
have to rely on this platform.

I haven't taken the time to study and follow the numerous posts
and instructions on configuring the indicators to MT4.... maybe over
the weekend.

I'd post a chart if I could... I still need to figure out how to
cut / copy / paste pics of charts to this message screen.

where's a tutorial when you need one?

Greetings! When you say you "haven't been able to load the platform . . . ", what exactly does that mean? Do you get a particular error message during login? Or does the problem occur after login, with the charts not loading up with data? And by the way, which MS operating system are you using?
