Quick H4 Outlook

  1. The chart shows how consistent trend followers have won again and again. Market is generous to those who stick to the trend. (Assuming there is a trend and market is not choppy)
  2. Even as an experienced trader I didn't follow trend here and there and I got slapped. Market shows no mercy.
  3. Breakout, buy dips... breakout, buy dips... breakout buy dips... rinse & repeat... that's the pattern here..
  4. I am waiting for London opening and a fresh breakout from 1.2001 area to join bulls again... No breakout also means: no buying! Simple!

On the 5-minute timeframe, a considerable number of trading signals were formed on Wednesday. Initially, the price bounced off the 1.1970-1.1988 area, but this signal proved false and was closed at breakeven by the Stop Loss. Then a sell signal followed in the same area, and by evening, the target – the level of 1.1908 – was reached. A bounce from the 1.1908 level allowed the opening of long positions, and in this case, the target was also achieved. However, it was probably not advisable to enter the market immediately after the FOMC meeting ...
... and I made that mistake again.
It was like being hypnotized. You want to sleep, your eyelids are heavy, you fall asleep, and then I click, and my money, instead of going up like an elevator, falls down the elevator shaft into... I hope most of you don't know where.

On the sidelines till when Unemployment data is released then I'll ride with the trend on the smaller time frame 1m, 5m, 15m, 30m.

Powell’s press conference yesterday shifted my bias from long to short for the short- to mid-term.

The key takeaway for me was that, at this point, the Fed is weighing the risk of rising inflation slightly higher than a cooling labor market. In my view, the current tariffs—and those recently announced—have likely not yet fully fed through to consumer prices, which makes me more confident that further rate cuts this year have become slightly less likely.

I just added to my small short from yesterday and plan to continue scaling in throughout the week as long as price remains below 1.205. My target is a revisit of the 1.18 area, for example 1.188 or 1.185.

When you say "fresh breakout from 1.2001 area", how do you determine that? I mean, what is the criteria you're looking at? Is it simply that the price goes above that line? That it closes above the area at a certain timeframe? That it closes above, more than once? That it goes above, there's a retrace with a bottom above and then enter? Something else? It might be a stupid question. But this is something I'm struggling with, ie when to enter. I tend to enter at the wrong points in time.

Yesterday I totally missed the were big news coming and I thought it was just going to continue up. So I managed to enter at yesterday's high, because I didn't want to miss out on the price action. Obviously it was a bad decision and I should have waited. It was also an emotional decision, didn't want to miss out ... I kept the trade all day, until there were high volumes and the price was looking to go down even further. I got scared and closed it, not far from the bottom. It was probably one of my worst trades ever ... xD But only have a very small account, "practice money", so it's not a big deal. I want to learn something from it, though. My thoughts so far - to much emotion and not being updated on the news that were coming. But it's also about learning enter and exit strategy.

There is no clear, well-defined price structure at the moment on EURUSD. The overall picture is still developing. However, the way the recent structure is forming seems to open a path for a corrective move.
Based on what is building now, a retracement toward the 1.1840 area looks possible before the market reveals its next direction. This is simply an observation of the current formation, not a fixed expectation.
Just sharing my view. The market will decide.

Am expecting a bullish bias on EURUSD due to the incoming news release on USD unemployment claims, this is because the market is anticipating an increment on USD unemployment, therefore the Euro is expected to rise. The market seems to be ranging, and no internal liquidity has yet been raided as per now. My optimal trade entry stands at 1.19338 stop loss 1.19055 take profit 1.20835. As many are as of that opinion say long

Simply: one H4 candle closing above that line is enough (never a guarantee) but enough! The rest is finding best place to jump in.

My complete logic was already explained over and over here... Good luck studying!

Adjustment to plan.
Price is stalling around 1.195 longer than expected. I’ve closed my shorts for now and will wait for the initial jobless claims.
If the release comes in as expected or better, I’ll look to continue.

I'm long from here 1.1948 withe 8 pip stop. Imo back to the top.

If I get stopped I will try at a lower level, such is the life of a swing trader.

These are all my limit entries for anyone following along my trades.

Went out drinking before yesterday's news and was disappointed price didn't fall as far as I would like (to eat up these entries), but my thesis says the same.

I agree with ata regarding a breakout.

First trade in about a week and a half. I don't like the uncertain market conditions; I prefer not to stay against the trend for too long.

I just took a long trade at 1.19619. Just wondering what everyones thoughts are in using RSI? I’ve been using it since I first started trading and its the tool I use to confirm momentum. I wait for breakout, pull back and continuation and I use my M5 RSI to confirm momentum before I place the trade. Just wondering what peoples thoughts are. Rookie trader here been doing it 5 months. I’m guessing there will be a lot of swing traders in here who probably trade purely on trends but for the scalpers/day traders what do you guys wait for when it comes to confirmation?
