I have heard bad things about trading with fxsol. 'they're the greediest of the brokers'. is it true that they increase their spreads dramatically at crucial news times? has anyone traded the news with them successfully?

Run a search on FXSol in forex factory; you'll find what you're looking for as it's been discussed ad nauseum.

mebbe im blind but ive never seen them increase their spreads at news.

I see the GBP/USD spread go from 4 to 5 on NFP. It did today.

I think the spread is fixed for every currency pair, including the pound which is 5 pips.

Do you have the screenshot when it was happening?

yeah it rose to a 5 pip spread like two months ago and has stayed there since.

there is no problem from 4 pip to 5 pip in GBP/USD, its normal
Look at Interbankfx from 5 pip to 33 pip at NFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cable spread is fixed at 5 pips now at FXsol. They increased it like a month or so ago from 4 -> 5. I have never seen them widen spreads, however, that doesn't mean you won't get slipped on execution or order not get filled. This is normal behavior during news releases however.

I'm so tired of loosing money with FXCM (during volatile, news or non-news times), but I don't know where else to go. I've heard good reports about fxsol, but then I hear bad things too. I hear good about Oanda, but their spreads widen during volatile times. I hear positives about GFT but then I hear that they can also manipulate the market. I'm getting frustrated. I had been making money successfully over the summer with FXCM until they began putting me on manual execution.

My question is - is there any one broker that has it all? I can deal with FXCM during non news and non volatile times - but can someone tell me if FXSOL is really as good as I've heard during news? I can't continue to loose cash this way. I can't trade news with fxcm anymore. But I need to find someone who will not continually lock me out or place me under manual execution.

I called in several orders today at fxsol during the I(r) statement and the trade balance and the spread did not change....they also have very good customer service imho...
