New high is not holding. And yet adding another one to my short. Now 3/4 loaded. One more (1/4) should we drop below 1.17.

I agree, then I believe we will get Ata's blackhole scenario going all the way down to 1.125 area before making higher highs at 1.3++ (Would take many weeks)

Bearish correction seems overdue, albeit slower today to initiate. Attempted a small short at 1.17304.

I am currently preparing for a short position around the 1.174 level. From a long-term perspective, I believe the US dollar is likely to weaken, which could allow the pair to appreciate significantly over the course of this year—particularly from March onwards, once Powell’s mandate comes to an end.

In the near to medium term, however, I expect the pair to remain range-bound, roughly between 1.15 and 1.18. The rationale behind maintaining this short position is the strong technical resistance observed around the 1.174 area, combined with several fundamental factors supporting the dollar in the short term. These include Trump’s withdrawal of tariffs, as well as solid US employment data and robust GDP growth. Overall, while my structural view remains bearish on the dollar, I believe that short-term dynamics favor a temporary USD strengthening, justifying a sell position at current levels.

Just a quick note: Jerome Powell’s term doesn’t end in March. His current mandate as Fed Chair runs until May 15, 2026. His Board seat itself lasts even longer, until January 2028.

And also "getting rid of Powell" has never been a magic bullet for POTUS to influence interest rates. The C in FOMC is Committee - it's a committee decision on the Fed funds rate. There is a diversity of opinion on the FOMC, by design, and POTUS cannot just replace fed governors at will.
