You wake up on Monday morning into the new week and price has already made a strong daily move. I stick to technicals and can only say this much: political markets have short legs and this overnight rally clearly shows that. For me, this move lacks real substance. From a technical perspective, the market is already overbought on the short-term charts, which is why I’m expecting a correction today at the very least a retest of the 1.1650-30 area before any further upside attempt can develop. In any case, I’ve moved the stop on my long to breakeven at 1.1644, as I don’t like this kind of price action. I need to take a closer look at the structure first and get a coffee before doing so.

Candles like this are usually retested or corrected at least by half or two-thirds to validate whether the move was sustainable, especially when it was printed during the Asian session. Price doesn’t necessarily have to make new lows or retest today’s low, but it does need a solid base test, ideally around the 1.1635 area. On the other hand, if price manages to hold above 1.1650, it could still push higher first toward 1.1680 or even 1.1700 before any meaningful correction sets in. Let’s see how it plays out. I have a sell limit at 1.16645 Sl 50 pips and tp @ 1.16130 Reason being that price wants to retest weekly pivot after almost hitting weekly 3rd support last week which should act as resistance and the first sell signal for the week.
