WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Bank earnings dropped by 3.4% in the second quarter of the year as troubled loans for real estate continued to pile up and net interest margins narrowed, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. reported Wednesday.
Earnings fell to $36.7 billion from $38 billion in the same period a year ago, the regulator said.
"Banks continue to face two key challenges," said FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair, "a difficult interest rate environment and ongoing weakness in residential mortgage lending."
But regulators are still worried about the turmoil in the subprime mortgage market, Bair said, calling it a "major concern."
She painted a grim picture of that market, saying many borrowers are facing "resets" -- a change in their loan payments -- in the third and fourth quarter and early next year.
"If we're talking about subprime resets," she told reporters at a press briefing, "the bulk of that problem is ahead of us."

Agreed - there is a strong possibility that this pair will re visit and test the bottom - the fact that it is hesitant at this level suggest that a lot of money is sitting on the side for a retest of the bottom before going long. It is very likely. It could go up from here but still the possibility of heading down and retesting the bottom is very high.
And I believe the same for EURUSD,USDCAD,CABLE,USDCHF...
I have this feeling that we might test the last bottoms once more b4 start skyrocketing for new highs.
i.e. EURUSD= +- 1.33
CABLE = +- 1.96
USDDAD= +- 1.04
USDCHF= +- 1.18
Just my 2 cents and nothing more coz I could be terribly wrong

Hello everyone...
I still hold my long positions but was about to change them to short before i saw this...
If you see the first circle, the pair broke the median down after a few tries and then tried to break it back up but got rejected from it after few attempts and fell down fast... Now we are having a similar position. The pair broke the median towards up, and ever since that time it's trying to break it back down but always getting rejected from the median.
Both scenarios happned at the 229.28 fib level which is also a major support...
So i am expecting the same story of a break out of that level in the next hours...
Of course, it does not have to work like that, but I will only go short after i See a break and a close below the median
Are you by any chance using night vision?

I always use black background but with green you could see better
i guessed
anyway.. I am not saying it wont go short... But better wait for that level to be broken.. Because the median seems to be working effectively..
we shall see
Thats why i am still holding my long positions.
also geppy is at 229 now and DJI is at 13180.. If it makes a run to 13210 again which is possible, than we can see the geppy to boost up for a while.
give me my pips back...
