50K jobs created vs 66K expected is starting to get down into measurement noise, IMO, considering the NFP methodology (surveys) and a two-revision data series finalization process.

Practical trading advice - stand aside and let the machines fight it out around major scheduled announcements. The machines always have a digital food fight over NFP releases. Don't get any on ya.

lol so few understand how its done. its all smoke and mirrors. funny thing is of the 90 companies they get those surveys from.. only about 2/3's respond and they always need revisions for them.

just play the game and make that money lol

The dust is slowly settling, and trading conditions are becoming reasonably "normal" again. Bottom line: from a fundamental perspective, there is currently no real reason for EURUSD to continue falling.

I’m now shifting my focus back to technicals, and from a chart perspective it also looks like downside potential is becoming increasingly limited. On the daily chart, price has tagged the 200-day MA around 1.1635. We may see another dip toward that level, but if it does, I’ll definitely look to add to my long position there.

On the lower timeframes, indicators are already starting to show divergences. I’ll give the market a bit more time to fully digest the move, then reassess and decide where it makes the most sense to scale into longs.

I am scaling in or averaging down rofl
Starting with 1/3 position size at 1.164


Edit: just opened second 1/3 position at 1.1632
Edit 2: just opened a stop-buy order at 1.165 for the last 1/3 will - if it gets triggerd place a SL for all positions at almost BE at 1.164ish

Stopped out at 1.16350
Long entry was at 1.16447
The reason behind the long was that EUR appeared to be under consistent selling pressure, and I expected price to first run the stop losses of existing short positions before showing any meaningful upside. Based on that expectation, I planned a move toward 1.16770.
Unfortunately, the market did not play out as anticipated, and the target was not reached. The stop was hit instead.
Loss accepted. Reviewing the setup and moving on.

IF you are opening a demo account, trade along side with real account with minimum trade size. You get to see the difference with live and fake account as the spread is real difference. Real account will simulate your emotion even if the trade size is small. Time is money and you don't to want to waste time after transition to real account and then realize you cannot handle the emotion using real money. Use demo if for testing purpose and get use to the platforms
Never really thought of that, so far I mentally practiced as if the money I am investing is real, I'm using demo to build confidence, and so far I am loving it, but that is a totally different way of putting it, thank you so much!

ngl I love his charts too, just so simple and easy to understand, I've seen a screenshot once of a trader, and I started getting hallucinations; first promise I told myself was to never complicate my life as much lmao

IMO it depends on whether it’s planned or reactive.
Unplanned averaging down is usually a symptom of bad risk control. Planned position building, on the other hand, is a different animal — and not necessarily wrong by definition.
