The rule I quoted earlier can be expanded to conserve capital and applied to manual trading.
I'll eventually incorporate it into the EA...

If prices reverse and you're in a loss, you should monitor the slope indicator.

- If the "Slope indicator" shows the opposite slope as at the entry point, you should exit the trade.

As an explanation: you can note that sometimes the exit point after the closing at a counter-signal, can be quite large, so close the trade with an even smaller loss.

Thanks Swingman for everything, hope we can see more ways to exit and reduce losses, i have been working on exits recently so your rule helps me test more on exits.

XAGUSD Update:

H4,D1,W1, MN all in uptrend

On the D1 and W1 charts, price is above the average/middle line of both the MA(5) and MA(30).

MA(5) Close/Open cross from smGoldenCross Trend_v2.2 on the H4 timeframe appears to be a potential buying opportunity.

Trading is a game of probabilities, and higher probability setups can often be found on lower timeframes when they move in the direction of the higher timeframe trend.

Thanks to George (Swingman) who has made the process very simple, there is no need to to make the process complex, when a signal appears on H4 from smGoldenCross Signals_8.3, all you need to do is place a STOP ORDER (Buy Stop order in the case of XAGUSD).

Best of luck to everyone, hopefully we’ll see more all time highs for this shiny metal.

Have found the markets slow, or not been at the screen at the right time, so this is the first trade since earlier post.

And, have paid closer attention to the slope indicator (as detailed above by SwingMan), especially trying to align the H4 and D1 charts. When the slope moves from above/below the Filter=30 level the probability of a positive move looks high.

- Weekly is quite clear ,

- it wont happen on Daily, but

- the H4 is a better bet.

Hello Everyone ,

I will try to keep this update short, as some members prefer concise posts.

Today I am providing an update on the trade positions, the screen shot I posted on (26 November 2025) up to today’s market close.

I am not trading as actively as I used to a few months ago. My health is slowly becoming stable, and with hope, I plan to restart properly in the New Year with more strength and maybe a few surprises.

During this period, I added a few more trades using STOP ORDERS whenever the alerts appeared.

These trades are still running, the results speak for themselves.

Once again, I am sharing my live account position from the same funded account, for new members and for anyone who is struggling.
I want to tell then that every method wil work. In my case, I opted Golden Cross Indicators by George (SwingMan)
I studied this whole thread (with emphasis to George's posts) multiple times to fully understand the concepts, and I explored every input parameter inside the indicators to know exactly what they do.

These 47 pages in this thread contain true value. I also compiled all of George’s posts into a single PDF for my own study and later shared for the benefit of all, which can be downloaded from here: Post #886
(Though I still strongly recommend reading the entire thread)

If I can achieve these results with a busy schedule, day job, health challenges, and not perfect risk management, then I believe others can also, with positivity, patience, dedication, and avoiding shiny object syndrome.

Please don’t fall into the cycle of doom, it leads nowhere.

And lastly, just to be clear: Please, NO QUESTION/QUERIES about the details of these trades.

- Daily is trading within that Weekly High-Low

Hello Everyone,

Optimal time frame selection beautifully explained by George (SwingMan) in his first post giving refeenceto Dr Elder.

George has already coded smGoldenCross Trend_v2.2 to show higher and lower time trends on the current chart (Top Left corner)

I am sharing the screeshot from the first post again for everyones refresher.

One can use any time frame one feels comfortable with, as its one's personal choice (Higher the better)

As per Dr Alexander Elders, timeframes must be separated enough to show a different level of trend, but not so far apart that they become unrelated.

The higher timeframe should be 4–6 times larger than the lower timeframe.

4–6 time Higher time frame is better because this spacing:

  1. Keeps both charts visually connected to the same market structure
  2. The higher timeframe shows the true trend
  3. The lower timeframe shows the tradable oscillations
  4. Indicators behave consistently across both

If you go too far apart (like 10–12):

  1. The higher TF becomes too slow
  2. The lower TF becomes too noisy
  3. The trend and signals stop correlating
  4. You get late entries and conflicting readings

When trading the H4, the Weekly is my Primary (Dominant) timeframe. The Daily is the Intermediate timeframe.

However, when I am day-trading and scalping, the same three timeframes available in MT4 can be H4, H1 and M15 or M5.
The ratio is 4:1.

Normally I reserve some time on weekends for study and for digging deeper into concepts.

At the moment, I am on a trading break atleast till the New Year. Hopefully things will under control.

Today I thought of sharing something related to the timeframe selection & Golden Cross indicator by George (smGoldenCrossTrend_v2.2)

The timeframe image in Post #1 by George and my previous post ( its the same image from Post#1) does not include M30, and one may wonder why M30 is missing while all other timeframes are present.

The omission of M30 is intentional, not an oversight.

Classic MTF frameworks (especially Dr. Elder’s Triple Screen logic) are built on role separation and fractal scaling, not on using every available timeframe.

Each selected timeframe has a specific function:
Higher TF ===> dominant trend / market bias
Middle TF ===> structure and pullback logic
Lower TF ===> aiming and execution

The chosen timeframes usually follow a ~3x–4x relationship so that price structure nests cleanly (e.g. M15 → H1 → H4, H1 → H4 → D1).

My preferred time selection as per George's recomendation (H4 → D1 → W1) again is a personal choice, depending on how much screen time is available.

M30 sits between roles and does not add a new analytical function:

-- It is too close to H1 to provide additional trend context
-- Too slow compared to M15 for precise execution
-- Often introduces overlap or conflicting signals rather than clarit

That is why M30 is commonly skipped in structured MTF systems, not because it is invalid, but because it does not improve decision quality when the hierarchy is already well defined.

This logic is already implemented in smGoldenCrossTrend_v2.2 by George (SwingMan). The indicator is programmed to respect this timeframe hierarchy and intentionally ignore non essential intermediate timeframes.

Anyone can see this in action by attaching the indicator and switching the chart timeframe from M1 all the way up to W1.

You will notice that the trend alignment remains consistent and structured without relying on M30, which is exactly the objective.

Skipping M30 is therefore method specific, not a universal rule. Some traders do use H1 → M30 → M5 successfully, but that follows a different spacing model than the one shown and coded by George.

In this framework, M30 adds overlap, not edge, which is why it is excluded by design.

If you trade with real money, it's best not to trade in July and August. The boys are in Malibu.
Nor from December to January 15th. They ski in Courchevel..
Normally, this game is already a crazy game, a fool's bargain. No need to make it even worse during the holidays!

In hindsight the reasons it was poor are clear, but at the time not so. The mind (and trading) is a great servant but a terrible master.

Still in the learning lane and much to absorb and implement, so let's take that (and hope) it's a lesson learnt and that one pays closer attention to the long term signals and direction of the slope, as SwingMan has clearly articulated on many occasions.
Now back to the study!
