After yesterday everything closed and now I entered the first short based on H1 BB at 1.16255 ... SL 5 pips ... so bears you can go forward slowly

hello everyone, new here but not completely new to trading... I see a few of us are short from around 1.162s - (I know I am late as per the rules, but I am also short from 1.16238. Moving nicely at the moment, but I am experimenting with stop loss placement, as obviously this heavily determines the trade outcome. Currently my stop is 1.16368 (so about 14pips); but I see some of you employ stops that are a lot tighter, say 5 pips...if my stop loss was also 5 pips, I would currently be around 2R in profit, which would be lovely considering the current m5 consolidation... however with such a wide stop, I only currently have around 0.5R on the table - considerably different!!

So my question to you experienced folk is: how have you determined your stop loss sizes, are they placed with PA in mind, do you use ATR, or simply a fixed pip amount? And obviously I know this is timeframe dependant, but comparing it to the other small stop loss sizes I have seen here, I believe we are trading similar timeframes.

Analyzing the H4 chart... if any candle H4 closes below 1.16060, there is a possibility that the bears will continue towards the 1.14801 region...

H4 open is 1.1616 below is good for bears

First of all: Welcome...

Now.. your question is off-topic... this thread is for experienced traders to talk directly around EURUSD situation... We are not teaching.. We never have promised that we do!

Please make sure to read and understand thread rules on page 1 and if you want to ask anything make sure it is about current charts.. current flow... current priceaction, current situation of EURUSD...

*In general, if you have to ask educational questions do it on weekends and expect it to be answered on weekends...

Yesterday plus, this morning plus, and based on reports and statistics at 11:00 a.m., a loss. One very bad decision with long hesitation to close the position, and boom, a loss. It doesn't matter if it's big or small, but it's a loss. What a day! And it's not over yet. Yesterday, my heart was filled with sunshine, and today, it's like a punch from Mike Tyson.
