I’ve quoted some of George (SwingMan)’s earlier posts below for everyone’s reference and refresher. I would also kindly suggest Emmanuel and others who have joined later to revisit the complete thread, read it atleast few times, as there seems to be a gap where some key explanations by George may have been missed. In my previous post I wrote what I assume what you need, and it's nice that you're trying to use the indicator!

Actually, I don't feel like explaining several times that when you're sitting at the computer, you don't need alarms. One just has to look at the clock from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every 4 hours.
The entry levels are written in a rectangle on the right side of the chart, and one only has to place the orders.
When one isn't sitting in front of the computer, like I'm trading on my yacht, then...

@Emmanuel, I respect you a lot for your vast experince close to half a century, your dedication in helping and correcting new traders, visiting so many threads several times a day every day and keeping them alive.

I have studied the posts in this thread several times (more than 10 times) have thoroughly studied Golden Cross Method indicators individually and combined, both on demo and live, I still believe my earlier understanding is correct.

1) smGoldenCross Trend_2.2 (displayed at the top left of the chart) changes from LONG to SHORT when the current close is less than or equal to the displayed value.
2) At that price, avgOpen and avgClose become the same, The Cross will happen.
3) The main purpose of this Golden Cross Method is to anticipate the Entry and Exit prices before hand. As I mentioned earlier, the predicted entry can also serve as a potential exit when one is already in a trend trade. I have already explained the calacution of the Entry price in detaiil, can be checked from my previous posts.

Post 116 by George, which I have quoted above mentions some of the reasons I moved away from Trading Made Simple thread by (BigE) as I am a lazy trader, not in a good health conditions and do not have enough time to monitor the charts. I do not have 2/3 years , I do not have 10,000 hours for Mastery like few members have and the main think is that I do not want to become a master.

For me, the Golden Cross Method stands out for its simplicity, it’s based on Anticipated (predicted/future) MA crossovers. The indicators are coded by
George(SwingMan) , and I prefer to use them exactly as he has explained and demonstrated, while Emmanuel you are adding further enhancements and still leaving the core elements and using your 40 years of advanced trading experience to trade that method, which might be easier for you and its not for me, the charts you are posting here are with only one indicator from the Golden CRoss indicators.

There are so many threads on FF dedicated to pure price action, candle stick patterns showing new traders how to trade, focusing S/R, Stochastics, RSI, Swings etc
Emmanuel as you are still using the core indicator smGoldenCross Trend_2.2 on the charts you are posting and posting charts with smGoldenCross Signals_v8.3,
I think that is the reason you are unable to understand that core concept.

One thing I want to make clear to everyone that I am not trading for living and I am not a full time trader and never want to be. At this age and with my constraints (health and time), I prefer to keep things simple and structured, rather than adding too many filters and rules that might take away from the original essence of the method.

Once again, George has provided us with his updated and refined versions of his indicators, now it’s up to each trader to decide whether to use them as is or adapt them further by adding Fractals, Swings............ etc. Personally, I’ve chosen simplicity over complexity and it has helped me achieve consistent and remarkable gains which I had never thought of and I’ll soon post more updates soon to encourage everyne and

Hopefully, George is watching the recent activity on his thread and will be able to clarify some of the confusions.
My Suggestion to George, only if he thinks, its appropriate to declare some rules for posting in this thread, to avoid becoming this thread (his own thread ) a thread like Trading Made Simple, where many traders visit, in seek of information and leave due to overload of information presented to them there.

My only purpose posting here is to keep this thread alive and support others who are still learning the original method that was posted by George in Post 1 and no deviations from it.

I sincerely hope and wish that this thread remains focused on learning, sharing, and trading discussions (George’s original vision of the Golden Cross Post 1) not on disagreements or conflicts, as has unfortunately happened in some other threads.

We are all learning every day, some at slow pace and some at fast. I strongly believe that too much information (information overload) when you are learning something new can cause serious confusion rather than clarity.

Therefore please start posting real-time live market charts and show readers here that you can trade according to your own understanding of all of @SwingMan posts in this thread.

Instead of speding time writing long post which has no value to test the indicators and GoldenCross Trading Idea by @SwingMan,

why dont you do your own backtesting and show us some test results.

Below is my backtest of BTCUSD. Instead of the exit with TP1 and TP2, I use exit with +3R profit and the Exits Stop Loss of -1R.
Each trade risk is $500 and use Position Size .

I am more confident that a system with higher Positive Expectancy has a Statistical Edge over those 1:1 R:R trades.

The win rate here is only 40%.
All you need is to follow post#1 the Weekly - Daily - H4 TripleScreen approach and you can trade on M5 chart timeframe.
Avoid trading when H4 is in sideways raneg-bound / consolidation not trending along with the Daily and Weekly.

I truly respect your experience and the effort you put into guiding traders here and in other threads. However, I would prefer not to turn this thread into another debate zone, we’ve all seen how unproductive those situations can become, especially in the TMS thread with the long exchanges between you and Tekkies (7553 pages in that thread). I believe none of us want that atmosphere here.

It also seems that your current testing and approach are not strictly based on the complete Golden Cross Method as developed by @SwingMan, but rather on one component of it, combined with your own interpretations and ideas from TMS. While that’s perfectly fine as part of your experience, it naturally leads to very different results and discussions.

My own goal and I believe the purpose of this thread is to study and apply the Golden Cross system exactly as SwingMan created it, using his indicators, logic, and the simplicity he intended.

Keeping the method clean and simple will help new members understand and build confidence instead of being distracted by mixed systems or advanced variations.

I’ve already posted my charts earlier and will continue to do so when I find clear setups that demonstrate the concept properly.

Hope this chart below helps you and other members in better understanding of the smGoldCross Trend_v2.2 indicator and values displayed in the top left of the chart.

No offence, I have deep respect for everyone I’ve learned from, and you are certainly one of them.

I’m already fully focused on the Golden Cross Method ( using my limited time and energy) , and at the same time, I’m trying to hint/ help new traders stay on track not to get distracted or deviate, but to use the original Golden Cross approach as @SwingMan designed it.

Just for clarity, the Golden Cross Method is more than only the smGoldenCross Signals_8.3 indicator, there are a few other key pieces (indicators) that complete the concept.

As for feedback, I personally believe that George (SwingMan) is a world class programmer/ coder and understands his own tools far better than I could ever explain. He shared his idea generously with all of us, and I’m very happy to use it as is.

I’ve already achieved around 45% growth in a short period using this method and I’m still learning and improving. Need to focus on ceratin areas and a bit of automation.

For me, that’s the best feedback I can offer, results based on applying the system faithfully.

Sharing result of one of my recent open trade (ETHUSD), I have already posted the chart above, hopefully it helps others see what’s possible when you stay focused on the Golden Cross method even on Sunday.

Yes, I completely agree with this post! Em tends to come to threads, post a lot of good stuff. Only to introduce later his additions, interpretations and deviations. Tekkies wasn`t completely wrong.

I believe, once you find a strategy that SPEAKS to you: Check for indicators - and only neccessary/helpful ones - and possibly a dashboard - no further add ons, variations etc.

If you make money with it - that`s a confirmation it spoke to you. Nothing makes more successful than success.

Yes, Em is kind, helpful and knowledgable but sometimes overwhelming and not rooted firmly. So always cutting back and check with the basics. And avoid any analytical paralysis!

I've already received several private questions about why one posts charts with the GC Signal indicator, but the calculated trading values aren't used.
The members are interested in the GC idea, but can't find little references to it in the posted charts.

- Otherwise, the comments are useful and can also be found in the TMS thread. Over the past few pages, the thread has developed into many nice recommendations on how to trade successfully, similar to TMS, so I'm asking for the same to be done specifically for GC.
Similar to TMS (the 5-Method), one could use the middle line of the MAs open/close and make an entry after a breakout from the close of a bar.

- For calculating the SL and TP, I recommended the ChannelOsc indicator, which calculates volatility values, and they are more reasonable than the standard ATR.
- In general, I often see charts posted without the Slope indicator, nor the Donchian Channel. They are especially useful in manual trading for making trading decisions.
They are also very important for the SmallWick trading idea, which can be used independently or as a follow-on trading strategy. @ENoris kindly provided some explanations of these indicators.

Just a suggestion to you and all the members who want to get the most from smGoldenCross Trend_2.2

If you turn comments ON for the smGoldenCrossTrend_2.2 indicator, it will display the HTF, CTF, and LTF trends, along with the future predicted close values in the top left corner of your chart.

This can be very helpful very helpful if you open a single chart , you can see the trend and the predicted close values on current chart at a glance, and you already have three timeframes open it can help you more.

Currently, you have ShowComments = true for smGoldenCrossSignals_v8.3

You should turn those off, and instead turn ShowComments = true for smGoldenCrossTrend_v2.2 (the one where the MA setting is 5)

Doing this will give you a much broader picture across all three timeframes: D1, H4, and H1.
