Forget about funded accounts, prop firms. Build your own strategy and your own money. This is the way to go.

Funded accounts make money by the fees that that charge people to enter - not from finding profitable traders. The conditions for these funded accounts are set up to make people fail so that they can take their entry fee. It is far better to focus on your building you own account

What I am finding is these template prop firms, is that have not tried passing their own challenges with the rules provided with the template when they set up the business. The rules seem to be not quite aligned with the reality of market movements. Now this could be intentional, but I find myself having to dissect what they have written in their rules to the disconnect of live price events.
Like brokers, I don't think many prop firm management or staff actually trade. If they could proof test their own challenge first, and show the result it would go a long way.
I haven't seem one yet which has for example, that has a 'Glossary of Terms' to accompany their rules. These fuzzy borders are their bread and butter, it appears, which can only end one way.

Funded accounts are a tool, not a flex.
If you’re already disciplined they help you scale.
If you’re not you’ll just fail faster (and pay more fees).
Simple way to think about it: Personal account full freedom, full risk
Funded account limited freedom, limited risk, bigger capital

yes, fully agree
if you loose an Account because of Your Own fault, its another kind of a stop loss.
. if you got at least 1 or 2 ppayouts, you made good provit, not loosing 1 Cent of Your Own money.

i dont know about other countries, but in germany the incometax is different.
Prop firm is not income from capital so no 25% Kapitalertragssteuer is taken from your liveaccount profits.

Personal account still remain the best. Simple grow at your own pace. Trading is difficult already to add to the rules and uncertainties that comes with prop firms

There are always 2 sides, if you are an ecellent good trader you would not even look at propfirms. But if you come here to FF looking for help from other traders thats different.
The problem with Propfirms, there are only very very few yuo can trust.For FTMO, the rules for a swing account are very usefull and if you have a problem with this rules, you would not make it with an Presonal account, you loose real money, max to the marging call.
With FTMO your max loose is the fee or even no real money at all. That is a hard Stoploss thats perfect moneymanagent.
Problem : no one can tell how long this FTMO stays serios .

If that’s so, then why are there, in every forum, some full-time, successful, professional traders saying openly that with their trading-styles, they wouldn’t even be able to try a prop-firm evaluation, let alone expect to get through one successfully?

Really, some of the opinions expressed in this short thread (especially on the previous page, much of which is just nonsense!!), almost as if they were simply factual, are just bizarre beyond belief. Even by forum standards!
