I used to trade mainly forex pairs when I started approx a year ago , but have gradually shifted my focus to XAUUSD, XAGUSD , OIL and the UK/US indices.

With the US government shutdown and possible future interest rate cuts, I believe the outlook remains favorable for Gold, Silver, and the indices.

I’ve also been studying Bill Williams’ work, and whenever time allows, I revisit the valuable insights shared by George on the Alligator, Fractals, and Ichimoku.

My goal is to make the most of the current bull run while it lasts.

Thanks again for your interest in this method gain, and a kind request, please consider posting some Golden Cross educational charts (like Big E used to do), so we LAZY / amateur traders can continue to learn from your experience and wisdom.

I recall your PMs and your initial posts in the TMS thread.

Its amazing for someone with a full-time day job and only wanting to trade the H4 and Daily charts due to time constraints and health reasons, you have in less than 12 months spent so much time learning so many different 'systems' and indicators including the Ichimoku. From my 40+ years trading the markets, I have not see anyone learn so much in 12 months and not possible to have mastered anything in such short 12 months. Of course, there are exceptions

I have no doubt @SwingMan' many threads and his indicators did help some traders in Forex Factory. When he started this Golden Cross Trading Idea thread, I did initially tried and tested his indicators but I stopped because it took away too much of my time to test each and every version thoroughly. I know @SwingMan' trading background and I can understand why he did all what he did. He is not the intuitive type trader hence he developed several tools in this thread hoping these tools would help other traders too. However, the interest in this thread died after a few months and he knew that. I sensed the disappointment in him reading his posts.

If you seriously want to succeed as a traders in your retirement years, you need to focus in your own development to become a trader. Stop trading black-boxes which you have no clue about whats inside.
You could not trade TMS because exactly what the OP @eelfranz said. TMS 5-Method is not for newbies and new traders. He mentioned about intermediate plus level traders and that means 10 to 15 years live trading experience.

Spend 5 to8 hours every day for the next 2 to 3 years, then only you will stand the chance to become a winning trader.

Now let focus our posts on trading and trading discussions with charts.

Hello @emmanuel7788, thank you very much for your comments, they are very valuable to me.

Could you give me some examples of triple screen analysis? In 4H, i probably misinterpreted the idea of a pullback and it was just a consolidation.

I truly respect your experience and your dedication to guiding traders here and in other threads over the years. Also, much respect to RobinHood, and full credit to George (@SwingMan) for his remarkable work and generosity in sharing his indicators and ideas, even including the source code, which is rare and greatly appreciated.

I fully agree that developing as a trader is a long journey and that mindset and risk management play a major role. I don’t plan to switch methods. I’m continuing to study and apply the Golden Cross approach because it suits my trading style and time availability.

Due to some health issues and time constraints, I can’t spend 5 to 8 hours a day ( 2 to 3 years) learning and on the charts.

We are all here trying to predict market movements, but honestly, I don’t even know whether I have the next 2 or 3 years ahead to do so That’s one of the reasons the Golden Cross method appealed to me, it allows me to set up trades, place my stop orders, and step away from the screen.

In the background, I still study Bill Williams’ Alligator/Fractals and Ichimoku, as both have elements of forward looking analysis that fascinate me.

I’ve also read few of Dr. Van Tharp’s books including Definitive Guide to Position Sizing and now try to think in terms of R multiples.

As Dr. Alexander Elder says about the Three legged chair, method, money management, and mindset, I believe I now have a Golden Cross method and must focus more on risk control and mental discipline to strengthen the other two legs.

Regarding personal details, I’d prefer not to share them publicly, but I can say I’m content with my progress so far and fully committed to steady improvement.

The main reasons I post here are

--To keep George’s thread alive and active.
--To repay, in some small way, what I’ve learned from George and others here.
--To help new members with their questions, within my limited experience.

When someone new joins and posts with a genuine desire to learn and asks a question, it’s usually because they hope that someone more experienced will respond and guide them. They’re not necessarily looking to be spoon fed, they just need a bit of direction. A clear, detailed reply from someone using that method previously can really boost their confidence and shorten their learning curve. That kind of encouragement can make all the difference for newcomers trying to find their footing in trading.

When I first joined Forex Factory, I often found that my questions in other threads went unanswered or were incompete. In contrast, here in George’s Golden Cross thread, I always received clear and helpful replies. That made a real difference and was the main reason to sticking to this thread.

I hope more members, both new and experienced, will continue to share charts and ideas here, so that this thread remains a learning place and a tribute to George’s efforts and generosity.

George will be happy to see the continued interest in his method.

Would “close for crossing down” be a close that implies a change in trend?

Would “price for crossing” be the point where the LWMA 5 (close) moves above the LWMA 5 (open)?

Would "entry price" be the ideal buy/sell stop predicting the previous crossing of the LWMA?

Please excuse me, language often helps, but in these cases, interpreting them correctly means I have to ask silly questions.

You keep repeating the same narratives over and over again here. These do not contribute any value to @SwingMan' objectives when he started this thread.

Since you want to learn how to trade the markets, you should be posting your charts here for discussions every day. This is the better way for other FF members to come here and read our trading discussions.

Post as many charts as your time permit save the time you spent writing the same narratives everyday.

I would like to see your charts using the indicators by @SwingMan and where you have taken trades , post the screenshots. Posting only winning trades will not help anyone here.

When you are day trading, be mindful of the market session of the day. It is important that you have your own trading hours which suit your lifestyle.
You can trade once every 4 hours if your work allows that. Otherwise, trade just once per day on the Daily chart.

On most days, the last few hours of the US session are usually quiet when liquidity get thin. The are except days when market events and news do move the US session and into the Asian session.

The European / London sessions are the best times to trade.

I have started all over again to read the thread again, gradually understanding the concept though my comprehension is slow. i honestly have mixed results of SL hit and kept asking questions, twerking it all around and dropped all my idea to read the thread for the third time. still reading... i will continue to read and watch all videos. I’m currently testing a momentum-based system that focuses on price “energy” and direction bias — the goal is to detect where trend strength is building before a breakout happens.
It’s been pretty consistent on AUDUSD so far. I think the key is keeping charts clean and focusing on clarity rather than indicators overload.
Anyone here trading similar energy-style setups?

Good Morning @Toosin_Alade,
I just noticed from your post that your stop loss (SL) placement might not match the signals generated by the indicator. The SL should ideally be placed above the orange rectangle around 0.91405 level. You will need reduce your lot size to better manage your risk.

In the smGoldenCross Signals_v8.3 you can adjust the Account Bal and Risk%, then lots will be calculated according to your Risk % ( I use these values).

From my understanding, it’s very important to fully understand each parameter used in the indicator. Try to follow only the signals it generates just place the pending stop orders accordingly.

For take profit (TP), you can start by setting it equal to your SL distance (a 1:1 risk/reward). I’m still working myself on finding better ways to manage TP, SL, trailing stops, and breakeven levels, but this basic approach keeps things simple and consistent.

What really helped me was switching to demo mode and using lower timeframes (M5/M30) to simulate how the indicators would behave on H4/D1. This allows you to see more setups in a shorter period and understand how and why the signals form.

Even on weekends, you can practice using pairs like BTCUSD or ETHUSD to keep learning how the signals behave in different market conditions.

Once you truly understand the logic behind the signals, everything becomes much easier to follow. I’ve personally read those key pages multiple times before the concept finally started to click, so keep going, you’re on the right track.

Thank you so much on this SL, I just checked now and discovered my SL at NU and NC was hit and market still followed downstairs. Will carefully work more on it. I am presently trying something I digest yesterday from swingman on exit - got out of GN now TP but kept EN still running. Thank you Enoris for your time and lowly simplicity for low ranking student like me. Thank you George too for sharing. I am grateful to this thread.
Small story, I have come across this system before but snubbed it after few trials. I tried TMS and was a bit confident from TMSr by Robinhood before I got things worse. I picked interest later with your post and attitude from TMSr @Enoris. Thank you again but all credit to swingman for the wonderful help received. Yet to watch @emmanuel7788 video's, please kindly re-digest for us as you use to do. I thank God for having them (senior and experienced members) reply and comment on this system.
