You are still looking for a holy grail indicator on your charts. There is none and you know that since 2013.

Just need to settle down with one trading methodology and develop that methodology with your own Money Management strategy and develop your Mental Strategy to be like top traders.

Thank you for your kind words, but honestly, I don’t deserve the credit, it’s George who truly deserves our thanks. I am just sharing what I have learned from him and from his old posts/ indicators, trying to help the members who are just starting to use this system.

One thing that will immensely help you better understand Golden Cross Method is to use only the latest indicators by George (you can search the template and indicatars I have shared)

As I’ve mentioned several times, I discovered this wonderful thread quite by accident , first Trading Made Simple by BigE, then Trading Made Simple by Robinhood, and finally this brilliant Golden Cross Trading Idea by George (SwingMan).

I’ll admit, I’ve often felt the temptation to explore other systems George has developed and shared selflessly in the past, especially since I’m personally very interested in leading indicators like Alligator and Ichimoku. But so far, I’ve managed to keep that temptation under control.

Whenever I have some spare time, I study those systems, but I’ve made a personal commitment, until I’ve fully understood and mastered Golden Cross, I won’t switch to another approach. In my experience, every time we switch methods, it feels like starting over from zero. (atleast that is what I have felt when I switched the methods in the past)

Consistency, sticking with one method, has helped me immensely. I’m confident that whatever system or method you choose, if you stay committed to it, take a set number of trades, and carefully review the results before switching, you’ll see real progress. Of course, everyone’s situation is different, so do what best suits you.

Here’s what I’ve personally learned in my forex journey of less than a year
1) Using higher timeframes is generally more reliable than lower ones.
2) Consistency and patience with one system yield far better results than jumping between methods.
3) Start small, because if you lose 50%, you’ll need to make 100% just to recover that loss.

What a beautiful trade I closed on XAGUSD today.

Entry: 49.312
Exit: 51.990 (I have used hard stoploss at this level, as I expected once it touches 52.000 a possible reversal starts its better to lock in profits and step aside. I am still very weak in this area)

This trade really shows the power of the Golden Cross Method , especially when combined with higher time frames, consistency, and using the original indictaors without over tweaking or complicating things.

If I can do it, I’m confident that many others in a similar position can achieve the same.

George has mentioned in his first post about Dr. Alexander Elder’s Triple Screen Method, and he has incorporated this concept into smGoldenCrossTrend_v2.2

In the top left corner of the chart, you can see the current timeframe, a higher timeframe, and a lower timeframe. This allows you to get a clear picture of all three timeframes at a glance on a single chart.

I love this picture which is good for trending market conditions.

BUT, most of the time the Weekly, Daily and H4 are not trending.

The market can be sideways wide range and sideways narrow range,

You should spend your time and study Dr. Alexander Elder' Triple Screen Trading System and learn how he approach the market . Then use this approach in your own trading system development. It is actually quite simple and straight forward. During the last Covid19 pandemic, Dr Elder conducted an online seminar during the lockdown. Look for that online seminar on youtube.

@SwingMan as I know him, he has been trading for many years ... more than 20 years since. He has 24 threads in Forex Factory and that is testimony of his immense knowledge in trading the markets as well as in many areas. His programming skills in mql4. is impeccable.

Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your thoughts. I truly respect you and your valuable contributions here, just like George (SwingMan) and several other senior members who have generously shared their knowledge with the community over the years.

You’ve mentioned Dr. Alexander Elder’s Triple Screen Trading System and I completely agree that it’s an excellent and time tested approach. When I first read George’s post, I actually went through Dr. Elder’s work and watched some of his seminars. It’s a wonderful concept indeed. However, the point I was trying to make earlier is that George’s Golden Cross Method already embodies a very similar logic giving us a clear view of three timeframes (higher, current, and lower) on one chart. In essence, it provides the same multi timeframe perspective that Elder’s Triple Screen system emphasizes.

Please do no take that wrong , I genuinely think it would be great if you could consider opening your own thread. Many members, including myself, have learned a lot from your insights across different threads like Trading Made Simple by BigE and other popular threads. If all that wisdom were gathered into a single thread, it would make it much easier for newcomers to find your posts, ask you questions directly, and for you to save time from repeatedly answering the same queries day and night. Of course, that’s just a suggestion, everyone has their own plans, goals, and intentions in how they wish to share their work.

As I’ve mentioned before, due to some serious health issues, I cannot spend long hours in front of the screen. That’s the main reason I’m focusing on automation. Having spent over 20 years in a forecasting related field, I’ve developed a deep interest in leading indicators, such as the Alligator some say it lagging but I belive that the shift feature makes it leading), Ichimoku ( a complete lagging and leading componenst) , and of course, the Golden Cross Trading, which offers a predictive edge by highlighting possible future crossovers and trend shifts.

George (SwingMan) , in particular, is a truly selfless person. I’ve seen many instances where members have requested old source codes he shared over a decade ago and he has always responded openly and generously. That’s a rare quality and something I deeply appreciate I think everyone else should.

Lastly, I just want to gently remind everyone that no one is ever restricted from opening a new thread on Forex Factory that’s part of what makes this community so vibrant. However, I would kindly request that we keep this specific thread focused on the Golden Cross Method and Small Wicks, as that’s the main topic here. Posting charts relate dto Golden Cross Trading ideas and discussions directly related to these systems will help maintain clarity for new members who join and prevent the thread from drifting off topic like many others have already drifted in the past.

After joing ForexFactory I preferred this thread particularly because it had fewer pages than Trading Made Simple by BigE and other popular threads and I found it much easier to follow and learn from.

If we can keep our discussions centered on George’s Golden Cross Trading Trading idea, it will benefit everyone and keep the thread clean and valuable for future readers.

I do not trade DE40 and trade only on H4, D1, and W1, as I lack screen time.

If I was monitoring DE40 and had a plan to trade H1 and M15, when a signal appeared on H4, I would switch to the lower time frames and trade in the direction of H4, I that way you can get a better entry price.

Looking at the image you posted, would this be the ideal scenario for seeking confirmation in shorter time frames? I am referring to the price generating a sell signal (in this example) above the 30-period moving average.

Would that be the moment to look for the same signal in 1H or 15m time frames according to this image?

Thanks, Fream, I’m doing well and inching closer to my goals.

As I’ve mentioned earlier, I mainly focus on trading the H4 and higher timeframes.

I’m still quite new to Forex myself and learning every day, so I’ll just share how I personally see it.

In the DE40 chart, if you plan to trade on H1, then your higher timeframe reference would be H4 (roughly 4–6 times the current timeframe). The H4 background already reflects the higher timeframe (D1) trend, which in your case is clearly down.

The beauty of the Golden Cross Method is that each bar already displays the predicted closing price and the potential crossover levels for the 5LWMA (avg open/ avg close)

HTF , Current Time frame and LTF levels are shown, so instead of constantly switching timeframes, you can see the complete higher–lower timeframe context right on a single chart.

In this DE40 setup, I’d simply place a Sell Stop order on the H4 chart and let it trigger naturally.

Of course, if you prefer more active confirmation, you can drop down to H1 or M15 once H4 gives the initial signal, but that means you’ll need to stay in front of the screen. Personally, I’m super lazy when it comes to screen time, so I just set my Stop orders, SL/TP, and walk away.

In my view, it’s best to keep things as simple as possible in the beginning. Once you’ve fully grasped the concept, you can move on to the more advanced MASTERY techniques.

There’s a wealth of information in these 36 pages already, and honestly, there’s no need to overcomplicate such a simple and elegant method.

Hope this helps in better understanding the Golden Cross Method.

I'm going to focus on reviewing the H4 and Daily timeframes and the 1H timeframe for my entries.

Could you tell me where I can find this indicator that acts as dynamic support using a higher timeframe? It would be very helpful.
