I'm looking for XAUUSD to return to 1982.

I have just now bought XAUUSD.

I think gold moves up overnight and tomorrow we could hit 1953.

I stopped trading forex because I found out every country has several forex pools. That's why when you trade you always mostly lose because they counter your trades. I only trade the Nasdaq futures now, the purest form of trading. For every buyer there is a seller, and for every seller there is a buyer.
The system that I use to trade the Nasdaq, is the 1 H chart, the Donchain Channel, the Andrews Pitchfork and the 100 ema. You can add the 50 ema & 200 ema as well.
I would recommend that you learn the Andrews Pitchfork indicator. It is amazing on the 1 H chart.

So you failed at it and lost money? And your strategy you describe failed?
I Have you changed your strategy and are playing again? Because early on you didn't play NASDAQ, only currencies

Here's how I trade the NQ futures using my Think Or Swim platform.
I trade the 5 minute chart only. (This system will work on the 1 minute, but you have to be quick to close the trade).
I use the VWAP, and I use all 3 bands. Upper band I have colored red, bottom band is colored green.
I use the 20 ema.
At the 9:30 open, I'm looking where price is and where the 20 ema is.
If the 20 ema breaks below the upper VWAP band I will enter a sell trade, with a tight stop loss.
If the 20 ema breaks above the lower VWAP band I will enter a buy trade, with a tight stop loss.
I'm looking for 10 points and no more.
At the open, if price is sitting on the VWAP. I will not take a trade, I sit and I will wait until I have an direction. You have to be patient using this system.
If price breaks above the VWAP, I will put my entry where I would put my stop loss. (15 points below) There's going to be a pull back after a move higher in NQ.
If there's no pull back I wait for the next set up.
This is a very safe trading break out system. It's about 75% accurate on buys and 80% accurate on sells.

The entire market is just a search for liquidity It moves from liquidity pocket to liquidity pocket. It has no choice but to move this way. Once we enter one of these levels: Buyers thin out -> sellers win -> price drops to the lower level Sellers thin out -> buyers win -> price moves to the upper level. Then the auction resets & we start over at the new level. This is the only way you should look at the market & it will make trading much easier.

NQ futures. After the 10am one hour candle has opened, if price is going higher. Wait the candle to drop lower and when you think that price has created enough of that tail, enter the buy. Patience is key here.
On the other hand, on the 10 am one hour candle, if price is dropping wait for that push higher, after you think it’s moved high enough, enter that sell.

If you are trading NQ futures, and I’m talking about after 9am but before the 9:30am open.
If price is close to the top of your chart, and how I check this is by putting the RSI indicator directly on my chart.
This will tell me, if price is inside the 25% range price is going to drop at the open. The higher price is at the top of the chart, the safer the sell trade becomes.

If price is around the bottom of your chart, 75% on the RSI or higher price is going up at the open. This will be a very safe buy trade.

I have no idea if this works on ES or YM.

This is very accurate way to trade the open.

Just some friendly piece of advise. Control your discipline. Or the market will do it for you.

Trading is time and place. It really is. If you’re looking to trade give this a look. Trading NQ futures, between 7am and 9am eastern standard time. Say if price has made a new low and price has moved up just a little bit.

At that low, draw a circle at that low and drag that circle to yesterday’s high. Then draw a clock from that low, that low being 6 o’clock then straight above 12 o’clock. You want all numbers on this clock. Leave the spokes on the clock.
Here’s how this works. If price starts climbing and goes past the 5 pm on the clock that’s telling you price has a 70% chance of climbing to 4pm, if it makes it to 4pm it has a better than 50% chance of going to 3pm.

Now, in reverse. If price makes a new high between 7am and 9am. Draw 12 o’clock in drag it to yesterdays low. Then make your clock.
