User Inputs I have used
Risk = 1%
Account_Specified_Money = 100,000 = So expected $ risk = $1,000
Top Right Panel on the chart displays
BUY-Stop: 1.17176
StopLoss: 1.16805
Lots: 4.52
Spread %: 3.61294

I placed a BUY-Stop for 4.52 Lots at 1.17176 with Stop Loss at 1.16805

When I hovered over the Stop Loss line in the MT4 terminal it displays the $ risk as $1,676.92 instead of the expected $1,000 and 371 (37.1 pips)

I tried to work the maths out step by step (so can be sure where the mismatch is)
Price difference (1.17176 −1.16805) = 0.00371
Converted to pips 37.1 pips
Pip Value per 1 standard lot (EURUSD) ≈ $10 / pip
Dollar risk per 1 lot = 37.1 pips × $10 = $371
Expected lots for $1,000 risk = 1000 ÷ 371 = 2.695 = 2.70 Lots

Trade Panel is displaying Lots = (RiskAmount/ Channel Range) = (1000 / 221) = 4.52 Lots and observed $ Risk on hovering the SL line ( 4.52 × 37.1 × $10 = $1,676.92) which matches the hover value.

Whereas with the User Input (Risk % = 1.00 and 100000) I was expecting around 2.70 Lots

You're right about the comment, because the lots were calculated using the BarRange and not the InitialStop!
Please check the newly calculated values now.

I know that I need to work on my money management side.

Grasp the concept of moving SL to breakeven and trailing the SL which can further improrve with the time.

I am lazy trader finding it difficult to spend time on screen due to poor and deteroriating heatlth.

I am extremely grateful to you, George. Always and forever grateful for this thread, your continued contributions, and for sharing your ideas and methods with us.

Was unable to look at the screen today as was busy in the office.
Just came back home and placed a Stop Order.
Will update the outcome of the trade if it gets trigererd.

Buy stop was triggered for ny EURUSD trade

I opened a total of 0.69 lots

I closed half the position (0.35 lots), Seems like I was too quick to close half the lot, leaving the remaining 0.34 lots still running.

Since I hadn’t used partial closes before, I wasn’t entirely sure how they would affect the position.
At the moment, I’m trailing the stop by 100 points and will see how it develops. Every day brings something new to learn, and I still have a lot to improve on especially as my health isn’t always on my side.

I was only able to manage this trade because I happened to be in front of the screen at the time.

A humble request to George (health and time permitting), would you consider automating this workflow in an EA?

Features like partial closes, trailing stops, and ongoing trade management would be a huge help for lazy traders like me who can’t always stay glued to the charts.

Your Golden Cross idea is excellent, and an EA would be a real lifesaver.

On a lighter note, it would let those of us LAZY traders in small, old-fashioned boats enjoy a little bit of the YACTH experience you’ve already achieved through automation.

EURUSD UPDATE:

I really need to work more seriously on my money management and risk management.

Despite knowing about yesterday’s U.S. interest rate cut and its likely impact on USD pairs, I closed half my position too early.

Then I trailed the remaining half lot at 100 points, got stopped out, and watched the price continue to climb without me.

This was a clear violation of the classic rule: Cut Losses Short and Let Profits Run.

Here’s the updated chart with both trade levels plotted

I have used M15 timeframe just to speed up the process, but the behavior is the same across all timeframes. The arrow numbering starts again from 2 after reaching 6. However, when I switch the timeframe back and forth, the arrows disappear.

If some form of Refresh feature could be added, that might resolve the issue.

I tried adding Auto Refresh indicator to the template, but it generates alerts for all the other indicators (smGoldenCrossSignals). Since I have 16 pairs in my profile, this becomes difficult to manage, especially when alerts trigger.

It would also be very helpful if some kind of refresh mechanism could be added directly into smGoldenCrossSignals. After a long period of inactivity, we currently have to manually switch the chart to refresh it.

I’ve created a User Guide / Manual for the indicator smGoldenCross Trend_v2.2, as you had mentioned in one of your earlier posts.

Normally, I keep my weekends for studying and strengthening my trading knowledge to cover previous gaps. This weekend, I had some free hours, so I decided to compile my study notes into a structured manual.

Since starting with the Golden Cross method, I have been using smGoldenCross_v2.2 in almost all of my charts. In my understanding, the Comments Panel displayed at the top left of the chart is really the heart of this system. While learning, I made notes for my own use, but then thought it might be useful to organize them into a guide so that other traders can also benefit.

The purpose of this guide is to help users quickly understand the key concepts and get started with trading using this method. Hopefully, it will make it easier for others to grasp the essential points and apply them in practice.

Time and health permitting, I will try to compile similar notes on the other indicators and share them here as they are ready.

Finally, a request to all members and visitors:
Please test, share your charts, and post your experiences so that we can all learn from each other. By sharing ideas and feedback, George may be able to build a dashboard and an EA for this wonderful strategy.

Trade Update: XAUUSD H4 17-09-2025

I manually closed my trade about 10 minutes before the FOMC meeting. My target was $3701, but due to the unusual volatility, I decided to close early at $3687 (entry was $3665).
This was my first time watching price live before, during, and after a major event. What I realized is that for now until I get some more experience , it’s better to stay away an hour or two before and after such events, and wait for the market to stabilize.

Today’s move was extreme about $56 in less than 10 minutes (High 3707.41, Low 3651). If I hadn’t closed manually, my SL would have been hit.

I am still new to trading and don’t have the years of experience that many other traders here do on ForexFactory, I know I can’t even compare myself to them , but I have set my goals and I try to study as much as possible to bridge this gap. Every small step forward reassures me that I’m moving in the right direction, and I believe consistency will come with time. Due to health issues and poor eyesight I’ve had to reduce my work hours, so I can’t spend too much time staring at charts, but I still do my best to study and learn each day to bridge the gap.

When I made a shift to the Golden Cross Method, I realized it’s one of the simplest, easiest & the best approach. Many new members (myself included in the beginning) are often tempted to the TMS thread, sometimes judging its popularity by the number of pages. The TMS method, however, relies heavily on TDI (Traders Dynamic Index), support/resistance, price action, stochastics, and a detailed set of rules. It requires significant study and screen time, often years of practice, before one can trade it with confidence. For me personally, the Trading Made Simple thread felt overwhelming and difficult to master, which was the main reason for my shift.

With Golden Cross, entries and exits are predefined, and trades can be managed using stop orders on higher timeframes (H4, D1, or above, higher the better). With a bit of automation, one could even let an EA handle everything in the background and even go to sleep

As always, my humble request to George (health and time permitting) is to help us by automating this wonderful strategy. I know I post here often, but I’m sure many silent members following quietly would also benefit from such automation , just as they have benefitted from your other strategies that you’ve automated.

Hello everyone! I would like to ask if someone could write an EA for this strategy. First of all, I would like to thank George for this fantastic strategy. I am also still testing it, and I hope to become profitable with it. The beginnings are promising, I am mainly trying it on currency pairs, and it seems that about 60% of the signals are good. Of course, sometimes they are not, but that’s part of the game. Thanks also to ENoris for supporting the community with guidance, advice, and of course to everyone else.
The day before yesterday, just before the FOMC, I had a beautiful trade with this system on gold and GBP/USD. I believe the signs show that it could be profitable in the long run, which is why I would like to ask: George, if you have a little time, could you perhaps create an EA for your system that we could test? That way, we could evaluate the system more thoroughly to see if it really works in the long run or not!

Fist of all Congratulations for your Gold Trade and also thanks for taking interest in the Golden Cross Method.

A few suggestions from my side (I am beginner , new to forex, learning and sharing what I have learned after reading/ comprehending these 33 pages few times)

--Try to trade on H4 and above. Even if you want to scalp, it’s better to use the SmallWick Method on H4 Time frame.
--It’s best to keep the Golden Cross Method and the SmallWick Method separate. Don. Mix them.
--From your chart, it seems you’ve added too many indicators, including the TDI, In my view neither TDI nor Stochastics are required for Golden Cross or SmallWick.

I am not against TDI but its not required for GoldenCross / SmallWick, once you get the concept.

If you read above posts , you’ll realize that Golden Cross signals are usually earlier and more reliable than TDI. There is also no need for the Stochastics

I’m sure once you fully understand the concept after reading the therad you will remove TDI and Stochastics on your own.

As for the other two indicators in your sub windows, I have no idea, so I cannot comment.

The simpler you keep your chart, the easier it will be for you to grasp the concept of Golden Cross Method.

Regarding your previous post, George is the one who can best answer that. But for that to happen, members need to thoroughly test the indicators, post charts, check for any errors or discrepancies, trade manually to verify the results, and share them here.

I’m confident that once George sees real interest and contributions from members, he will eventually automate his strategy and develop an EA.
So let’s all stay involved, test the indicators , post charts, and provide feedback for improvement.
