NO testing or anything done on sunday but ...maybe i take a small break of 2-3 days as I am having a problme irl will continue soon with more spirit.........

found a really good website for backtesting and I AM BACK TO BACKTESTING GUYS .........but this time i'll be refining the system its entry modle is just shi* so yah thats why i wasn't giving any data or spread sheets cuz i was doing it on mt5 but it was quite difficult to magnage the data on spreadsheets........
anyone needs the link of the website just hit me up on the pvt messge..i can share it here but may the mods get upset so thats why...

update:
profitable trades 4 -- 520 pips (avg of 130 pips)...2 buys ---2 sells
lossing trades: 170 pips (avg of 42 pips) 2 buys 2 sells

for the past week i am learning more and seeing the markets more cuz backtesting without a stretegy with set rules is just not good ...and i am looking forward to learn the price action and market structure and then building up on that cuz the streetgy alone is definetly not enough you need confluences and yah my price action and market structure will be periorty with side of 1-2 indicatores I have started backtesting my price action from 1st jan and trying to get better with pa ...i will be posting regularly ..

trying to include price action and trendlines into play more and proiratising Price action over rsi ....about thesma i am not using it on purpose for take trades yet but just as small trend identrifier ..........(these are mostly on the basis of trendline breaks and rsi divergence in the poi ) started the trendline backtesting from the month of july cuz the occur more often than rsi divergence

Guys I haven't stopped the stretegy making actullay but currently i am doing research on something cuz i don't think i want to rely on a lagging indicator with my money .......

What Now??

learning about liquidity , and market structure

and

some fundamentals

and backtesting will be back but now the indicators that i am using are

MACD and RSI

both with divergence but not completly relying on the divergence alone .......

BACK TO BACKTESTING GUYS!!

for some time now I have been studying LIQUIDITY , PA and SUPPLY AND DEMAND (s&d for very little time ) currently i think its time to backtest it and know what things can be improved .........

now i am just going back in charts and seeing why this move happend and trying to correlate it with my understanding of the concepts .........and how can I capitalize on these price patterns while also looking at multiply tf confluences .......

and also not just limiting to the gold also comming to other currencies.... probably add rsi and macd in the backtesting too after the first round of it,.......

any suggestions will be appreciated....

day 1 guys will do it for the next week or till the free trading view allows me then if needed i will change the platfrom

It's like the ancestors wanted me to see this post because this is somehow related to what I've been backtesting. And I also started backtesting around the same time as you. What are the odds!

So my strategy is also divergence but I don't use an indicator primarily. I use my naked eye. I trade only ES and look for divergence with NQ cos they are HIGHLY correlated. And I also don't just enter anytime I see a divergence form. I know price action so I look for other things. Here are my rules:

 

  1. Look for divergence between ES and NQ.
  2. When divergence forms, wait for a structure shift. ie the nearest swing to be broken with strong candle or series of candles.

I normally aim for 2RR or I get out of I see another divergence before it gets to my TP. I've noticed sometimes NQ can be faster than ES or vice versa.

so you see if there is a divergence in betweent the NQ and ES .....you wait for a structure shift with momentem candles ...and with the side of ema9 and ema 21 ....preety cool but are you trading on futures...??

just a question ....are you trading on the modle of TJR by anychance??

Yeah that's basically it, except I don't use EMA at all. I didn't even realize it was on. Guess my eyes just ignored them cos they're always on my chart.

I'm trading on the indices themselves, not the futures. I say ES and NQ cos it's faster to type than S&P500 and NASDAQ.

I've heard of TJR but I've never really sat through one of his videos. I've been using Traderscasa free version for the past month and it's kinda limiting since they don't allow for two chart layouts. I had to keep playing the two indices separately on different windows so it was slow.
My analysis is sitting at 54% winrate and 4.8% profit. Total trades is 71. Granted, I wasn't particularly strict. I took some random trades based on "intuition". Some ended up in wins, some ended up in loss. All are factored in the 54%.

I've just paid for a pro version of fx replay and plan to take the backtesting more seriously. I have some rules in place now. Eg, I won't be trading from midnight to 5am cos in reality, I would be sleeping...

thats a nice thing to factor in that you might be sleeping at the time ......are you doing forward testing too??

Hello guys .....

Still in the prosses of creating my Own system ...........

currently not working on the rsi dievergence thing.......

but NOW I am reading this book uploaded by a fellow trader here on ff......

My old mentor got busy with life so on my on now ........NO issues they gave me a pretty good dierection to learn ........

this book is really foucused on what i used to trade before the rsi divergence system......

Currently doing backtesting of the things mentiond in this book on platform by the name of TRADER CASA .....I will soon start posting the result of backtesting cuz currently i am adapting to the methods of book.......

any help and questions are appreciated
