futures use last traded price charts. CFD has no last traded price, they have bid and ask charts because of OTC market, so next possible way you can buy or sell.
so there can be some differences alone because of this. what is the chart type of your cfd chart (and for your future chart to be sure)?

Remember that CFD’s are synthetic instruments, hence the variances seen across different brokers. There are a few that have “forward futures contract” instruments that are tied to the current futures price. They are listed separately then the typical US30, etc. Blackbull offers those, I’m not sure who else.

Yes I know that but even in the OTC market the variance of a few points across brokers is usual but what doesn't change is how it prints visually. Also the Futures market is synthetic too but on exchange so everyone sees the same price. All that is clear. Both products track DJIA ? Yes/no?

CFD regardless of how it is presented in actual price prints closer visually to the DJIA in that they have both broken the highs and look similar.
The Futures however is below the highs. And the highs to the left are also not printed similar to CFD and DJIA.
It intrigues me how this can be ?

EDIT : @pipmaster77 sorry this is not exactly prop related but it is part of what people (who come across from CFD), will see. Dump if you see fit.

ok, but what chart price you let diplay in your pictures in this 2 brokers software ?
lasted traded price, middle price, bid price, ask price? each of this 4 chart options ( some only in futures or cfd) will show different and would describe different what you see in your pictures.

it is important to learn about this 4 different prices... and all what follow from this. of course all the other theory part too (but what is price and how is displayed is a very important part and i see a lot of people skip the most simple theory parts very often).

for example: if cfd picture is ask price and future picture is last traded price, it would be ok to see exactly this inside the picture and normal.

There will be some differences from the tradable instruments due to netting off etc. Futures did close above previous highs yesterday.

The CFD chart is displaying the Bid price the Offer was @ 45644.6 so 0.7 spread

And fairly sure the Future price was last traded price.

Regardless these are weekly timeframe surely as far as the visual print goes they should match ?

I know many of you trade futures, but I think BTCUSD on weekends has the cleanest chart. It's so easy to trade—no sudden spikes or unexpected changes in direction.

Not according to the CME and my futures chart? Have attached daily to show same swings etc as yours.

then you should search for spikes in the cfd chart in in 1 minute chart to find the differences (most of time next to opening/closing time) or different trading hours.

Thanks for input T191 but I think you have not understood my original post.

In post #966 above. The CFD weekly chart and the DJIA weekly chart visually look matched/the same. They have relatively equal highs over on the far left and the current Weekly bar has broken above those highs.

The weekly Futures Chart Does not have relatively equal highs over on the far left and the current weekly bar has not broken those highs.

It is my understanding that visually they should all look the same. Yes different prices/spreads etc but that should not matter on that scale daily/weekly/ monthly chart etc. I can understand on perhaps 1 minute charts they print slightly different but not the larger timeframes.
If the DJIA and CFD broke those highs why not Futures ? I don't know any better way to describe what my observation is and perhaps, that is just the way it should be but it doesn't seem logical to me.

Not sure if this helps, but here is the MT4 CFD feed for US30 which I use and the MYM on TV which I use.
Both look to have closed 130-140 off of the highs

yes. thatswhy search simple for the reason.
weekly chart will not help you, search in 1 min chart , so maybe was a spike produced this problem or was it a full time difference, then we search for next....

you need to go near a problem step by step to find out what its not the solution / reason....to get the box of what can be the problem smaller and smaller and do next step.....

If you use the rolling contract it does show the latest high being broken. Its just a characteristic of how the quarterly future contracts print.

WTF is the difference what you are trading, CFD or Futures, if you(traders) are part of 95% of traders who cannot trade, it makes no difference.

Markets are Markets, you either Profitable or Not. There is nothing else matters. If you profitable with CFDs, you will be Profitable with Futures. I traded CFDs before and was profitable as with trading Futures now.

It can be confusing at first. Was trading CL and NatGas for awhile and had to worry about things like “backwardation” and “contango”

this explains the difference in local highs and lows on higher time frames , intraday it is not visible..
the difference between spot and futures , called the basis , goes slowly to zero at the day of expiration of the futures contract
