Yes and prop firms exist because most don't have 100K to throw at the market, but in your comparison you would only need $3K as max loss is truly what the account is.....it just has the buying power of 100K so you can fail easier.
Nope, not a good deal, when at Tradeify you can pay $510 for a 150K with 6K max loss.

I thought that these futures props made sense, but so far I don't really see any real advantage over a CFD prop like FTMO. Since I don't have any restrictions due to my country of origin, FTMO offers significantly higher capitalization and no limits on payouts once you've passed the challenge phase, nor any “consistency rules” or absurdly high minimum profits that you have to achieve first.

I find this particularly questionable because, as I understand it, in the case of FuturesTicks, these “master” accounts are also just simulated accounts.

“A FundingTicks ”master account“ refers to the simulated (or ‘simulated’) account you receive after passing the evaluation phase, not a live trading account with real funds.”

In other words, they have no market risk at all. In the case of the 100k Zero Account, where you pay a one-time fee of $600 and most people will probably never see it again due to all the rules and high profit targets, they make a lot of money on it. Think about it, that's $600 for a DEMO account (which you can get anywhere for $0).

It gets really absurd when they talk about “profit split.” Profit split from what? Demo money? They don't keep 10% of the profit, they keep 10% of your potential payout. That’s the reality! They could actually payout 100%. They already made profit by the fees you pay…

What if you are consistently profitable, then you are finally put on a real money account? And then? You still have to comply with all the drawdown limits, consistency rules, and minimum profit targets, and on top of that limited again in the amount you’re able to withdraw?

Right, but consider this.......an FTMO 100K account requires 10% to pass stage 1 and 5% stage 2 so 15K with max loss of 10K, exacly the same as 9K with a 6K max loss at Tradeify....for almost EXACTLY the same cost.
But at FTMO, that just begins the funded account, at Tradeify you are pulling 3K at that point

Yes, then Tradeify does cost less than FuturesTicks for the same deal.

Not sure about pulling 3K at that point. It probably depends on how fast you can achieve it and if there is again a payout cap?

What I like about FTMO is that you don’t pay a recurrent monthly fee and so you don’t have any hurry to pass. If you pay a recurrent monthly fee with a futures prop you’re more likely trying to rush it because you don’t want to keep paying 2,3,4,5,6… months for a demo account before you’re able to make your first profits which are then eligible for a payout. Not only that, they all heavily advertise with „pass in just 1-5 days“ It’s like welcoming high risk yolo traders and newbies to rush and therefor probably overleverage but on the other hand also advertise with „we want consistent/profitable/serious traders“…

Maybe a more consistent profitable adventure to start a „prop firm“ instead of trying to make money trading the markets. Chances are probably higher reaching your first 1-10 millions instead of with trading.

it is 100x easier to pass 2 phase ftmo than 99% of futures firm models. darwinex more likely to get payout than futures.

you miss the point. trading high ticket and small ticket not the same especially for cfd. If its 100k with 10k or 10k for 10k is same. lot size cap is better change not your idea

for margin you must have more balances if you lose 50% of 10k you cannot open same trades. Lot size cap with 100k you can still open same trade

I looked at Tradeify and the STF account appears to be the cheaper deal as compared to FuturesTicks Zero account.

But I’m not sure it will work for me because from what I read you have quiet a lot of restrictions in your trading style (e.g. now allowed to have hedged positions 1 buy, 1 sell for the same instrument at the same time, not allowed to use bots/algos)

Further you need to have at least 5 days of a certain minimum profit and further consistency rules like no day exceeding 20% of your total profits.

They make it really hard for you to succeed as a trader with all these rules (some less some more transparent). Who knows what else is in the fine print making it even harder. Funny tough, they all want to have serious/profitable traders, yet making it almost impossible for any serious trader to succeed.

I don’t know. I’ll give FTMO another try once I am more consistent in my current approach and otherwise wait to see how my DARWIN will do and hopefully at least pay for the monthly fee and my time.

As a matter of trivia, not to be taken as criticism whatsoever -

The Common Form Today

“To have your cake and eat it too” is the version most people use now. It means wanting to enjoy two mutually exclusive benefits—like keeping your cake intact while also consuming it.


The Logically Precise Form

“To eat your cake and have it too” is actually more logical. Once you eat the cake, you can’t still have it. This version was historically more common until the 1930s–40s, when the “have and eat” phrasing took over.


Why It Matters

  1. The "have and eat" version sounds smoother and is entrenched in modern idiom.
  2. The "eat and have" version is technically clearer and was even used by the Unabomber in his manifesto—helping linguists identify him.

I think, as long as the barrier-to-entry is low, traders will not be incentivized to respect the firm's capital as much as they would their own.

As things are, traders need only to invest a small amount of time and money in order to get several times their buy-in.

If, however, traders were required to prove themselves over a much longer duration, similar to traditional prop, then they would be much less inclined to risk the account that they worked so hard to obtain.

As we know, many of the traders in this space want quick and easy, and that only works with a churn-and-burn model, so everyone accepts the trade-offs.

Perhaps Josh hopes to bridge the gap by throwing spaghetti at the wall. Eventually, he may find enough good traders to transition into a hybrid model of sorts. Keeping those good traders is another matter.

I think that starting a hedge fund and bringing on investor capital etc., is pure fantasy with this kind of approach, though, simply because traders will never be incentivized to trade seriously when they can rinse and repeat on easy mode.

Tradeify has the least rules, by far...no news restriction, you can DCA, 20% consistency is really all, don't make more than 20 %, which is $1800 initially as your first target is 9K....yes it'll probably take 2-3 months, but 2nd is $4,500 and then $$$ for $$$ after that...if you use first payout to buy 4 more within 7-8 months only shooting for $200 per day, you're at 1K per day copying 5.
Everyone is in such a hurry....this is not easy......I thinks that's the big issue, the perception that this is a piece of cake and we should all make 30K our first month
