Naah Ive got no intention to trade it on the 1m TF, I just did it to see how the signals are generated in real time. My original question is how to know when to enter, because the signals are generated while the candle is printing. So when you see the dot(entry) do you just enter? or go to a lower timeframe and find your entry?
If thats the case might ask George if its worth having an alert so when the entry appears it sends a notification so you can go and try and find a valid entry

Yes, for now its all manual until George (time & health permitting) finds some time to add an alert feature or even make it into a Dashboard EA, like hes done in other threads.

One more observation: If you use SmallWick on H4/D1 (keeping in view the HTF trend) and place Stop Orders based on the plotted markers, youll notice that while the plotted levels can still change or disappear, the frequency of these changes is much lower compared to using it on lower timeframes. Once stop orders placed there will be less chances to modify them.

Seems like I have gone in writing mode, instead of trading mode, since the start of this week

Here what I do, it’s a bit of a tedious process.

I assume the signal is generated on the H4 bar.

I usually place my stop orders right when the signal appears.

If the price has already crossed the entry level but not moved too far, I sometimes go with a market execution instead.

When I have screen access, I check back after 30M/1H. If the signal has disappeared, I cancel the stop order and simply wait for the next signal, either on the same pair or another one I’m monitoring.

It would be great if George (time and health permitting) could make a Dasboard EA that could handle this automatically.

--Detect the signals across the selected pairs.
--Place the stop orders
--Cancel unexecuted stop orders after a set time (15M, 30M, 1H, or on candle close)
--Keep looking for new signals across selected pairs

It will be super helpful for lazy traders like me.

Just came back home, checked my trade ETHUSD trade from yesterday and forund that SL was hit.

My mistakes on this trade
--The cross on the slope has happend 5 bars earlier,
--It was weekend, dull, slow and sluggish market.

I have attached the chart with the open close postion plotted on it.

When I checked the chart of ETHUSD H4 there is a new SELL signal but its now too late for entry as its close to TP1 level.

Hopefully the permisison indicator by Goerge can help in screening these trades.

No.
I have just added the 30 period to show the higher time frame trend (D1 in that case), I dont wait for the cross over.
As SmallWick indicator does not have the option to display/ plot the MA like the GoldenCross Signals / GoldenCrossTrend indictaor so I have added these two 5/30 MAs for my ease.

Normally, on weekends, as forex markets are closed, I spend time studying to bridge the gaps in my knowledge. On top of that, due to limited activities because of my health condition, I had some extra time last week to really focus on analyzing a few strategies and indicators.
Lately, Ive been looking closely at the 30 Period Donchian Channel, the recent version shared by George.
The upper line represents the highest high of the last 30 bars, while the lower line represents the lowest low of the last 30 bars. When price touches these levels, it often marks a significant point in market momentum.

What I observed is that whether to trade a continuation or a reversal depends on the market context. Typically, if price breaks and closes beyond the upper or lower channel, it signals strong momentum and a potential trend continuation. For example, a breakout above the upper channel usually indicates bullish strength, while a break below the lower channel signals bearish momentum. In such cases, following the trend makes sense.

However, the discretionary exception introduced by George is very insightful. He mentioned:

Essentially, for the first 6 bars after price hits the upper or lower channel, its possible to trade a rebound against the main trend.

Additionally, I think the GC Stochastic indicator, being a momentum indicator, could be very useful here. When price touches the upper or lower Donchian line, it can help spot oversold or overbought areas, providing an extra confirmation for rebound trades.
I am still digging deeper into this concept and in free time will observe and test. But so far, I have found that in strong trending conditions, continuation trades beyond the channel often work well. For example, in the chart I attached, (between the blue vertical lines) I observed that when the stochastic stayed above the 80 level, price kept creeping along the upper Donchian channel and continued to rise. Then, when the stochastic crossed back below 80 from above, the 6 bar exception rule worked perfectly.

From this, I inferred that once price hits the upper channel and stochastic starts turning down below 80, the first 6 bars after hitting that extreme can be traded safely as a rebound , especially when confirmed by overbought or oversold conditions.

I would highly appreciate , if George (time and health permitting) could check whether this makes any sense. It seems very important because SmallWick signals may be indicating a long position, but as per exception rules, when price is near the upper or lower channel, it could actually be a setup for a reversal trade.

In the past few weeks I have started studying the Golden Cross system and applying it using a demo account. Here I wanted to post my first results for education purposes and to get feedback to improve my understanding of the system.

I am focusing on the major pairs (bar NU), AJ, EJ, GJ and XAUUSD (10 pairs) and taking entries on the H4 chart. Time constraints prevent me using lower tf. For each entry I set TP and SL levels based recent swing points/sr levels, and apply a trailing stop as well.

The 3 trades taken so far are:

1. AJ

These initial results are pleasing, but I need improve entries, allow the trades to develop more and improve the exits.

The position was taken with long term trend up, but since there's been the trend change. Will await for it to develop however, with ECB President Lagarde speaking later "today", may close it early.

The last few days have been really tough for me due to deteriorating health, worsening eyesight Sciatica pain is adding fuel to the fire.

It’s been affecting my focus and trading performance.

Today, I finally had some free time and was able to focus a bit more on my trades.

Time Frame: H4
Pairs: AUDJPY, EURCAD
SmallWick Method was used.
Both trades hit TP1.

I’ve been experimenting with breakeven and trailing SL techniques. While neither trade reached TP2, I’m relieved they didn’t hit the initial SL.

Honestly, money management has always been my weakest point. I feel lost when it comes to figuring out proper risk, adjusting SLs manually,

I plan to automate this part to reduce stress. I want to trade smarter, not just harder, but till now I struggling to make a consistent system that can used efficiently

I’d really appreciate any advice or guidance on managing risk, automating stop loss adjustments, or improving overall money management. I feel like if I can get this right, trading would become less painful and more sustainable for me (a Lazy trader)

Hi Enoris,

Have you tried a trade manager? It is a simple way that could take away of some stress letting you set a trailing stop based on various parameters. I personally use MPTM by Steve Hopwood. Is free and you can find it here on Forex Factory .

Yes, I did look into MPTM earlier. In fact, before I came across the Golden Cross thread, I had started with Trading Made Simple, where Emmanuel discussed it extensively and even described it as a beast that needs to be tamed to suit ones requirements.

I also came across a Forex Factory post where someone had created a lighter version of MPTM. Since I dont have strong coding skills or long experience in forex, I felt it would be better to try something simpler and lightweight.

Being a bit old school and relying mostly on MS Excel, Ive recently been experimenting with AI to understand the logic behind trade indicators / EAs. But honestly, things didnt go as planned ,j ust yesterday I received a broker warning about hyper activity and possible account termination.

So now I need to be extra careful not to lose my account in the pursuit of automation on my real account.

Once again, Im extremely thankful to you for sharing your experience and suggestion.

The template should work, no idea why ts not working

You need the add the smGoldenCrossTrend_2.2 indicator twice to the chart

One with MA settings 5
The other one with MA settings 30.
