Welcome to my trading journal where I share the weekly performance of a fully automated trading system I developed for XAU/USD (Gold).
I don’t trade manually anymore. Instead, I’ve coded an Expert Advisor (EA) based on lessons learned from my own trading journey, including many mistakes and failures that helped shape this system. The EA trades on the M5 and M30 timeframes and is currently running live.

Commentary & Notes

1. Several quick scalps in the second half of the day improved win rate but couldn’t offset earlier losses.

Important Notes:

1. This was the first active week for the bot in full automated mode.
2. Several early trades (especially on May 2 and 5) were affected by still-in-tuning configurations.
3. Overall, performance steadily improved as the week progressed, especially from May 6 onward.
4. Results are calculated based on entry/exit % change, regardless of lot size or monetary result.

Weekly Insight:
While the week started off rough with inconsistent signals, especially on May 5, the algorithm adapted quickly.
By mid-week, especially on May 6–9, trade selection improved, position timing was more precise, and stop logic aligned better with market structure.
The fact that we closed the week with +2.73% net return is a promising start.
We’ll use this data to refine the strategy even further for next week — especially focusing on drawdown control during volatile hours.
