Hello @Fream1,

From reading the previous posts, it’s clear that the best way to share your chart is by using:

File > Save As Picture

This method makes it much easier for Master SwingMan and others to see all the elements on your chart and provide meaningful feedback.

For example, I’ve uploaded the H4 AUDUSD chart using this method, notice how much clearer it is and how much easier it becomes for someone to comment effectively.

Honestly, I didn’t know about this either until I learned it from this very thread.

Hopefully, Master @swingman can clarify this for me.

I have only loaded the SmallWick Indicator on the chart with the following settings:

  1. Comments = true
  2. Info Panel = true

Even with just this single indicator loaded and both Comment and Info Panel set to true, it’s not displaying any information.

Is it supposed to show anything in the top-left panel?

These options are left over from another version, and I may need to remove them.
I wasn't supposed to write anything in the InfoPanel anymore.

I've started reading the thread again, and this time it's making a lot more sense — although the concepts are still quite advanced for a lazy trader like me.

Please find below my USDCAD trade setup:

H1: Short
H4: Short
D1: Short

I placed a Sell Stop at 1.36395, as displayed in the top-right corner (visible on the screen).

However, when I switch timeframes from H4 to D1 and then back to H4, I receive the following alert:

At the end I have opted for Sell- Stop ( idont know whether it was right or wrong)

I'll also be sharing a few suggestions soon, just some thoughts from my side, that might be useful to consider for future versions of these gems, if you think they're worth it.

Brief explanation:

An EA or manually will place this sell-stop.

Later, when switching timeframes, you can see in the H4 timeframe that the MA-close has crossed below the MA-open at the current price, and the indicator predicts at what price an upside crossover might occur.

If you plot the two MAs and not the center line, you can clearly observe the signal switches.

Thanks a lot, George for the clarification. That explanation really helped me a lot.

Now I understand why the alert price was different, it's based on the dynamic relationship between MA close and MA open, which shifts as price evolves and timeframes are switched. Your detailed explanation shows just how thoughtfully the logic has been designed.

I’ll definitely follow your advice and start plotting the two MAs directly instead of the center line. That visual difference in signal shifts will surely make things clearer, especially in real time.

I’ll continue sharing my observations and suggestions as I go along and hopefully contribute something meaningful to the evolution of these gems.

Update: USDCAD Sell Stop trade is still running, I have opened two lots as per money management dispalyed in the Comments/Info Panel on the top left and will update once its closed (either TP or SL)

Hello EveryOne ,

I’m happy to share that I’ve just completed my first live trade using the Golden Cross trading idea developed and generously shared by SwingMan. All credit goes to him for selflessly providing such powerful tools publicly and helping lazy traders like me get started on the right path.

For this trade I risked 0.5% of my account.
The trade was split into two parts: TP1 and TP2.
Once TP1 was hit, I began trailing the stop loss by 50 points, a feature I had never used in MT4 before.
The full results can be seen in the attached image.

I know that my exit strategy still needs improvement, and for now, I’m calculating TP1 and TP2 manually using the entry (Sell Stop) and stop loss values.
TP1 = Entry Price – (Stop Loss – Entry Price)
TP2 = Entry Price – 2 × (Stop Loss – Entry Price)

Any suggestions on ho wto automate this process will be much appreciated.

I’m really happy that I finally pulled the trigger and took the trade. Of course, this is just one trade , it doesn’t define performance, but I’m sharing this not to boast, but to encourage others to get involved, test the tools, and share their results (both wins and losses).

The more feedback and data we share, the more refined and powerful these tools will become, and that benefits everyone in the community.

Helloooo, i have taken this buy on AUDUSD, knowing that H4 and Daily were aligned, i just waited for my signal in 1 hour and entered even though the the background does not match. I closed the trade only on my TP1 risking 1%.
I could have let it run, but I can't continue the operation as I have to leave.

I'm sharing the USDJPY H4 chart and would appreciate some help in understanding the current setup.

On the most recent H4 bar, I see:
A blue arrow
A light blue rectangle
An entry price displayed as 143.982 in a rectangle

I’m trying to understand why the arrow is blue, especially since (if I’m reading it right) the average open is less than the average close on this bar,

However, when I check the trend:
H4, D1, and W1 are all clearly short
On the H4 chart, the moving averages have already crossed down, Slope indicator is pointing downward with the Red Arrow.

So my query is, should one place a

Sell Limit at 143.982 (the level marked by the arrow),

OR

Sell Stop at 143.466, calculated as:
Predicted Cross Down – Half Range = 143.724 – 0.258 = 143.466

i will be more biased towards Sell Stop

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated as I’m trying to fully grasp the logic behind these signals to avoid second guessing.

You have in "Data Window" avgClose = 143.744 and avgOpen = 143.777. MA-Close < MA-Open.

Close for CrossingUP = 143,724
HalfRange = 263

Entry Price = 143.724 + 0.263 = 143.987

Ah, my mistake , I was looking at the Price for CrossingDN which is also 143.724
Sorry for bothering you.
Since the trend on H4, D1, and W1 is clearly down, this would call for a Sell Limit at 143.987 (143.724 + 0.263) or at the marked rectangle level, 143.982 (the difference is just 5 pipettes, which is negligible).

It can’t be a Sell Stop, because a Sell Stop requires the price to be below the current market price, and that’s not the case here.

MY CHFJPY H4 Trade
I took another trade last night on CHFJPY (H4) just before going to bed.

As emotions started to creep in, I decided to reduce the risk to 0.25%.

The trend was long on all timeframes (H1, H4, D1, and W1) and a Buy Stop signal appeared
Buy Stop: 181.464
Stop Loss: 181.091
Break-even Level: 181.484 (still trying to figure out how best to use this value)
TP1: Manually calculated as → (181.464 – 181.091) = 0.373 → 181.837
TP2: (0.373 × 2) + 181.464 = 182.210

Trade Outcome:
TP1 was hit in the morning.
For TP2, I moved the stop to TP1 level and set a trailing stop of 100 points, but it got triggered at a level below TP1, so the second part closed with a smaller profit.

I don’t have much prior experience in Forex, apart from the basics I plearned up from BabyPips. At times I struggle to fully grasp some concepts, partly due to age, health, and, I admit, being a bit of a lazy trader, but I’m eager to learn & improve.

I would sincerely appreciate any feedback from fellow members and especially from the legendary creator of the Golden Cross system, SwingMan (if time permits him) on how this trade could have been handled better. I'm particularly interested in suggestions regarding exit strategies and how to automate them as I’ve read that exits can be even more important than entries. A well managed exit can rescue a poor entry, while a poorly timed exit can ruin even the best setup.

Your insights will help me refine my approach and apply those lessons to future trades.

Looking for feedback on this AUDCAD H4 Chart

I'm a bit stuck and would appreciate any input.

On the H4 chart for AUDCAD, the H1, H4, and D1 trends in the Upper Left Panel are all showing DOWN.

The Golden Cross Slope Trend is also pointing DOWN, confirmed by the down arrow and a dark red histogram bar.

However, the label in the top right says BUY STOP @ 0.89418, SL @ 0.88982 BreakEven 0.89438

This has put perplexed me , the entry suggestion is for a BUY, but it clearly goes against the higher timeframe (HTF) trend, especially the D1, which is in a strong downtrend (as shown in the background color). Also, price is trading below the 30 LWMA middle line, which reflects the D1 trend on the H1 chart.

I've not taken several setups like this because I hesitate when there's a contradiction between the entry type (BUY in this case) and the overall HTF direction.

Should we still consider these trades? Or always avoid them when the HTF trend disagrees?

Of course, there's a contradiction!

One have an existing trend.
The GoldenCross is the price at which the trend can reverse, i.e., if the local trend is short, the program calculates the price
at which the MA-Close can cross the MA-Open and the recommended EntryPrice.

Generally, the recommended EntryPrices are quite far from the current price and don't need to be considered.
(Sometimes, however, even in such cases, they are reached during periods of high volatility.)

One should observe the relative distances between the two MAs Close/Open, or the Slope indicator, and place orders or not.

Good Day George / Fellow traders,

I received a SELL alert from the system and proceeded to check the trend using the Top Left Panel across the following timeframes:
H1, H4, and D1 – All confirmed a short trend.

I checked the Slope Indicator, it is also pointing downward.

I attempted to place a SELL STOP order in the terminal, but it kept returning an error. Eventually, I had to use a SELL LIMIT order, which was accepted.
(As I understand
A SELL STOP should be placed below the current price.
A SELL LIMIT should be placed above the current price.
But in this case, the SELL STOP didn’t work, which confused me.)

Trade Details
You can see the trade details and execution in the attached images. (I have also included the Data Window details)
I used the BarRange value = 373 = 0.00373 to calculate SL and TP.
Risk per trade = 0.5%
SL = 1 × BarRange
TP = 2 × BarRange

I’ve used two charts to display the risk management setup clearly (still have to calulate the SL /TP manually) because I think as mentioend by George these comments position cant be changed and only comments from one indicator can be displayed at a time.

I believe it would be a helpful enhancement if the panel/comments position could be made configurable, so traders can organize their chart layout more effectively.

I request to please check
Is my execution and SL/TP calculation technically correct based on the BarRange logic?
Any improvements or other considerations I should be aware of?
Could anyone clarify why the SELL STOP order was being rejected by the terminal in this situation and placing the SELL LIMIT is the right choice?
