**Topic: USD Strengthens Amid U.S.-China Trade Optimism; Gold Declines**
Hello traders,
Here's a quick overview of today's market movements:
**U.S. Dollar (USD):**
The USD gained strength today, especially against the Japanese yen and Swiss franc. This move comes after positive signals from U.S.-China trade talks in Geneva, where both sides showed progress toward easing tensions.
**Gold (XAU/USD):**
Gold slipped about 1.4% to around $3,277/oz, as safe-haven demand faded with the upbeat trade news. Risk sentiment appears to be improving.
**What’s next:**
Markets are now focused on Tuesday’s U.S. CPI report, which could shape expectations around Fed policy going into summer. Inflation surprises could cause some serious volatility in USD pairs.
