so your no longer using the cloud or the ema’s… your just using the Bollinger bands now then.

No, I have 2 funding accounts, I continue to use the cloud, but since it is a different strategy I do not mention it more here, and since I like this strategy of the post, I am using it in another account

Long time reader and user of this method, first time posting here...
Did anyone get stuck with runaway trade on XAUUSD yesterday?
If I didn't increase the lot size, this would be a disaster, on the other hand I was very near margin call. I don't like martingale method but I had to do it. I've started with 0.01 lot and ended up with 0.37.
Anyone has an idea how to prevent this? Do you increase lot size on consecutive orders? And do you even trade XAUUSD?

What helps me is not to trade at the opening or closing times in London or New York. You wait for the price to stabilize, and that's the right time. Impulses tend to be more controlled. Despite everything, having a management plan in place should a certain situation arise, close everything. EU and GU are easier to trade.

hi codar, it cannot be prevented, it must be managed, i do not ever increase lot size...
if price moves against me, i wait longer before placing another order leaving large gaps between them, at some point i will stop placing orders and either take a loss or wait for price to return to targets which can take some time and may involve swaps...

I find that you must have a good reason to enter, can't just start firing in orders on feeling alone as before you know it your margin is running out and the trend shows no sign of weakening.

I'd practice with forex for the lower margin requirements and less wild PA. Have a minimum gap between orders of ten pips to stop over leveraging. Look for signs of weakness before entering.

You can practically enter at any point and have some profit, but what you have to define is the exit, how much I accept as a loss when the trade is not going well

It is just an simple trade manager. It doesn‘t trade by itself.
You have to click buy/sell/close by yourself

Hi Codar

You need to look at the 1 hour chart and look where recent lows are located. These are target big players will take out and you just got caught in a liquidity run for stops etc.
Always have a 1 hour chart up and avoid fading as price is heading for this liquidity.

I just don't know why you guys keep on adding to losing trades and hope price flips, it's just not a great long term strategy.
I traded this move on Gold Future's where adding to losing trades will end your trading career. I took the loss and re-enter lower for a nice $1K profit.
Take the loss and re-enter again with larger sizer in a better spot is a smarter approach..
