Picked up a long too, but on the ES. First attempt got stopped out, went in too late.
Targeting the volume point of control in the consolidation area above.
For the NQ (futures) that would be approximately 19.675,00.

Closed the trade at breakeven. Not really feeling it. Here's a little rant

Wolfram might be right with his findings. There's a 90-day "pause", but the 10% blanket tariffs are still present. Additionally, the 125% tariffs on China is actually 145%.

The CPI numbers were a non-event. It's data before tariffs. The Fed speakers today were talking about higher inflation. They do not believe the tariffs effect are short term.

Furthermore, gold prices are still rising, indicating that demand for safe havens is still alive. The consumer staples sector is doing relatively well too. Look at Walmart and Costco for example, they closed positive and flat, respectively.

And what's the deal with Trump wanting to acquire Greenland? That's still on the table. Something like won't create stability in the world.

I'd say unless something concretes and positive comes out of the White House, the indices are still not done declining.

Edit: And look at this. Consumer sentiment is already revised down, and inflation expectation revised up.

I support your view and targets. It's very possible. Today, inflation data was undershoot which is good for equities, but more importantly lower inflation data gives the FED the REASON to cut rates; hence the FED did not bend the knee to Trump pressure.
So if tomorrow's data is also an undershoot or just inline, it's sufficient reason for the FED to cut.
Consumer sentiment data is also a key factor.
Scenarios:
1- Inline data: Both PPI & Consumer
Good for Equities
2- Undershoot: Both PPI & Consumer
Good for Equities (beside the knee jerk reaction for Consumer data as this implies the FED has to intervene and they've inflation data as rationale)
3- Overshoot: Both PPI & Consumer
Zigzag: down then up
4- Mixed data:

Howdy gentlemen.Useful thread you got here.

There is a resemblence to the covid crisis.When the orange 50 SMA on daily crossed the blue 200 SMA on daily,it started to retrace up to the 200 sma.The fall that followed was less abrupt,but it was more prolonged.

I doubt anyone big is buying right now.It's short covering and waiting for positive news.But the whole rebalancing of the global trade and the fact that we have a full blown economic war between no1 and no2 will lead to a slow realisation that it is a deep crisis.Everyone might have its own views on that,but global trade as it was is not coming back and there is nothing that can take it's place right now.
It may have been overdue to put a hold on China,but the way it's done is not skillful.

There are many thousands points waiting on the way down,and with entries at better prices.

Price provided a break up of the 5min opening range. With the retest, we should go long, but I'll wait for the Consumer data to avoid the kneejerk reaction.
Also pay attention to Bonds!
Bonds are on the driver seat; Breakout of the current level U10y 4.5% will crash the market again.

I totally agree with you.
We're witnessing before our eyes the end of US economy. The shift is structural. Any up move in equities is for recovery, not fundamentally.
