Dow Jones Futures
Yesterday's positions closed. I opened a manual position, then the EA kicked in and I forgot to turn it off today so once today's TP hit another position opened.

GOOG Short
Google short position from last week closed. IB trading with stocks is a little more long term than with futures.

Hi fortyfive20, firstly thanks for posting your system! A quick question if you have time, the system states the stop loss should be the other end of the initial initial balance, so in the case of a long the bottom of the grey box and inf the case of a short the top of the grey box, however in some of your screenshots is seems like you're setting the stop manually. The S&P500 screenshot in the post I've quoted looks that way as the position was stopped out well within the grey box.

I notice occasionally your posts mention entering manually so I assume in some cases you use discretion for your stop loss but could you confirm? And if you do sometimes use discretion are there any rough guidelines you try to follow?

Hey Alan, thanks for commenting! So yes a while back I posted a little something about this.

For short positions the SL is calculated as the mid price of the 17:00 candle. As far as manual trades, yeah I take them every now and then. The EA won't open a new position if there's already a position open. So for example, if a long position was placed yesterday, with no SL, and today price is lower but there's and IB break out the EA won't place the trade. So I'll do it manually.
