Truthfully, AI will code most of the future infrastructure. The issue that many people have is they're trying to use AI to do things that they themselves don't fully understand.

Since AI will code most of the infrastructure, software developers will instead manage, correct, and direct the AI to work as intended.

TLDR: if you don't know how to code, stop asking ChatGPT (or any AI) to make codes for you.

It is true that having some programming knowledge helps, but I think in this case, if you choose the right questions or approach, it doesn't matter much. Instead of just wanting to do coding, we can also ask it questions about the code and request it to teach us.

When I was writing my first expert as a template for MetaTrader 5, there were many times when I didn't understand the AI-generated code it provided. I would ask it to explain how it worked or to comment on each line in Persian so that I could understand it better. This way, I was coding while simultaneously learning from it.

To explain with another example, I can share my experience of coding the first software I created. I had no knowledge of C#, and I wanted to build a software application so that I wouldn't have to perform certain tasks in similar applications like Excel. I asked it to guide me and explain step by step, and I chose Visual Studio Community for this purpose.

I received help from installation to the completion of the software. For instance, it would say that I needed to create a class here, and I would ask why we should create a class and what its advantages were. Then I would say, "Now suppose we want to create a class in the project; what should I do? Explain the steps to me because I don't know." It would guide me on where to click in the code: "Click on this option, select this, and then this..."

I would ask detailed questions about every little detail and learn while it was doing all the coding. I only expressed my ideas and requests, and it executed them step by step until we built the software. Not only did I create a simple application, but I also updated the software about 8-9 times, constantly adding new features and gradually becoming much more professional.

The key is to break down the entire project into smaller parts. Then work on each section and proceed step by step. At the same time, ask questions about the logic of the code and areas that are unclear. Don’t just try to get code from it; try to learn coding simultaneously as well. If you follow this process, you will definitely be able to create much more professional and complex things in the future.

I started with HTML; even that was from my friend's notes who had passed this course at university. Since I had received a good grade in physics, that course was automatically credited for me. After finishing university, due to my interest in web development and based on those notes, I started learning. In the beginning, I even copied and pasted the smallest HTML coding commands.

I don’t claim to be a programmer, but I never thought that as someone who studied architecture, one day I would know coding at my current level or be able to code with the help of AI.

These I agree with. It can be a tool for learning, but it's not a replacement for education. Without a way for you to verify its information, you are blindly trusting it. Would you solely use ChatGPT to teach a completely new driver how to drive a car?

I understand the point you're making, but the speed of change is so fast that I'm afraid in a few years I might have to take back my agreement. With jobs disappearing at this speed, I can't be very sure that even training programs requiring practical skill development will be safe in the future.

Coding with AI = waste of time and low quality result. You don't need AI at all. Or lets just say you are asking it the wrong questions...... Just learn the basics of the MQL5 language by using the available open source. There is so much MQL5 code everywhere and the documentation is good. So many examples.

Do you realize that 99% of all EA's are almost identical? Every EA uses the same basic template and structure even if it looks different.

You have inputs, global variables, initialization function. And then you have OnTick and OnTimer functions from where you call your actual trading functions in real time.

You have to create only 4 main parts:

1. Function to retrieve all information about the open and closed positions. It's best to put all this info on multidimensional arrays for fast and easy access.
2. Function for all necessary pre-trading checks. Things like market hours, server connection, account status, time zones, symbol specs and so on.....the list is long. Basically everything that can potentially mess up the operation of the EA if left unchecked. All these checks can be placed in one bool type function.
3. Trading functions. All possible trading functions. Market orders, pending orders, closing of positions, partials, trailing stops.....all of it. Most of these are already made in the standard library class CTrade.

So, these 3 parts will stay the same once you perfect them and clean all bugs. This is your standard template that you can copy/paste and apply again and again to create ANY EA you can think of.

4. Strategy Logic. This is the part that will change from one EA to the next. This is the complicated stuff!

This is the part where you say if(X>Y) open buy position. But the big question is what are the correct definitions of X and Y ? For this you have to use your brain!
Or you can play with some data mining software and machine learning tools.

So instead of asking the AI to make EA's, ask it to create trading logic where you have positive expectancy per trade. Then you will realize how useless the AI is. It cant make anything good! The People still rule in this type of tasks. The only ways to get to the golden logic is A) by years and years of observation. By knowing the price action, by knowing how the market react in certain situations. And then you convert your knowledge and experience into code and structured logic. And B) you can find good logic by using brute force. With data mining and machine learning and backtesting optimizations.

Dear friend, I don't want to persuade you to change your opinion because I agree with part of what you said. Coding with AI can be a waste of time if you are a good coder and strong at typing. Unfortunately, I lack both skills; I don’t have good knowledge, and I'm not good at typing. That's why it has been useful for me, as it covers my weaknesses.

I previously explained that the code it provides might not be good, so I won't repeat that.

Regarding the expert, you are right, and I tried to convey this in the first two videos on this topic. In those two videos, we aimed to create a template for a MetaTrader 5 expert using the CTrader library. We also divided the code into different functions or sections to make debugging easier. The template I taught can be copied and modified for different strategies. In the video, I mentioned that to convert the code from one expert for moving averages to, for example, a MACD expert, only three parts of the code need to change; the rest do not need modification. In fact, we did everything you mentioned about the expert in that video; we just need to change the logic of the strategy.

This is not just about experts; dashboards also generally have a similar template where only the strategy logic changes. You can also do something similar with indicators by finding similar code and asking AI to make the necessary changes.

As for asking AI to create strategy logic that ensures every trade is profitable, I think even humans cannot do that because it's impossible to ignore errors completely. I don’t want to defend AI because I personally don’t trust it in this area; I only trust myself and what my eyes see on the chart and its final results.

Now, I have a question: Suppose I want to see different strategies on the chart and don't want to create an expert because I'm unsure if it's worth it. I just want to visually analyze that strategy on the chart. Well, I need to store my analysis results somewhere. The easiest option is to create a sheet like the image below. Since I wanted to close half of my trades at point X, I had to manually calculate profits quite a bit. In reality, I had a sheet where part was calculated automatically and part manually, making analysis difficult.

Now the challenge is to create software that performs that same task more simply and quickly with just a click—a tool that helps analyze various strategies on any platform while storing results automatically. If we close part of a trade and want to open a new one, it should calculate the margin for determining the dollar risk of the new trade—considering exactly what happens in the account when closing half of a trade—and many other issues.
Another issue is if we want to change the balance or risk later; the software should consider those trades and show us results accordingly.

Well, I know a bit of PHP and MQL, both similar to C++. I want to create software with a user interface section and several coding sections.
Creating a user interface in C++ is much harder; C# is the easiest option where you can visually build an interface. There are other options too, but it's better not to explain them now.
The problem is that I'm not even good at PHP or MQL, let alone C++ or C#. If I were to learn a new language, how much time would it take?

Assume I don't even know MQL and now have a strategy that for some reason I don’t want to publish. Even if I have funds to hire a coder, is there any guarantee that if I trust someone, they won’t misuse it?

I'm also lazy about coding and have no interest in it—what's the solution?

In summary, given my situation and challenges, I've concluded that trusting AI for some tasks is beneficial. You can see the results in the image below; I achieved results in two days and later worked more on the software and added more features.

Not everyone is in the same situation (some may not be interested in coding, some may be lazy in this area, or some may be very slow). For some people, AI might be the best possible help.

The AI is a huge trap for 99.999% of traders. It is as it is. Is AI useless? No, it definitely isn't! Nevertheless, the AI simply represents a danger for majority of traders.
And you will leave pain to take care of itself.

The AI is amazing for what it is. Don't get me wrong. I use AI almost every day for various tasks. I've made great things with the help of ChatGPT.

Just don't expect the AI to build you high quality software, or to create profitable trading robots from nothing. In the past we used to say that there are no shortcuts to success. Now the AI created the illusion of shortcuts but they lead you to nowhere if you lack the basic knowledge. Especially in the field of trading.

Another problem with the AI is that it can teach you the wrong things! It often gives you incorrect answers and bad solutions containing bugs, sometimes dangerous bugs than can blow your account. If you lack the knowledge, to read the code and to understand it, then you cant know that there is a problem. Just because the code compiles without errors, doesn't mean it's a good code. People just copy/paste the answer from the AI and are happy. As they say Ignorance is bliss....

Exactly, because if something is useless, then companies like Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta (Zuckerberg), X (Elon Musk), and even Nvidia wouldn’t invest in it.

It must be something very important that none of these companies want to fall behind in the future market related to AI. If it weren't significant, American politicians wouldn't be sanctioning China in the field of AI due to competition.

I have a bit of a problem with the last part; it seems to have some negative energy to me. Of course, I don't want to give false hope, but maybe this issue encouraged some people to become interested in coding and gradually start learning.

For years, I only coded for MetaTrader 4 and never touched MetaTrader 5 until I saw a series of Persian videos on YouTube that explained just the basics and didn't continue further. I was moving forward with that until I became familiar with AI. Now, all the codes I want to write are for MetaTrader 5 and with the help of AI.
In some places, I understand the logic, and I've gradually become familiar with it. I know what I want from AI, and in some areas, it might be a bit confusing for me, but by asking multiple logical questions to AI, I can make the right decisions until the code is complete.

My current answer is no, but keep in mind that people who want to learn to fly get initial training in a simulator because it's very important. Maybe that can be improved with AI later.

Your second sentence is the answer I wanted to give.

To put it simply, we all know the story of the dream of flight and how people who wanted to build a device for it were treated in the past, until it actually happened.

It's true that we can't expect AI to teach driving now, but I think we should look at some of these questions with a more open mind, because these very questions could be an idea for making money in the future.

Maybe, and I repeat, maybe in the future, a combination of AI with robots or other things will make it possible to teach a person how to drive. It may seem illogical now, like the story of the airplane, but it's not unlikely in the future.

I understand your overall point and concerns, but I want to clarify a few things.


I don't know what you consider "high-quality software." I'll assume that Adobe Photoshop is high-quality software.
Do I expect AI to give me the complete code for Photoshop with just a few lines of explanation? No.
Do I want the software I code with AI to be on par with Photoshop? No.

Can I build software like Photoshop alone with the help of AI? Yes... but!!!
That's insane. It's not impossible alone, but what time and cost would it take? Is it worth it? No.

If a team is formed and that team uses AI, can they create software like Photoshop with the help of AI? Yes, absolutely why not. That would be great.
AI won't give you code like Photoshop. You have to guide it to the point you want it to reach.
Neither another human nor AI can understand what's in your mind.

I also mentioned this in the first post that you have to guide it to the right point.

A wild horse will never give you a ride until you tame it and bridle it so you can ride it.
The example of AI is like that horse.

In offline versions, you can control the degree of AI's creativity. The higher that degree is increased, the more it tries to use creativity in its answers. The lower that degree is, the less creativity is used, and the answers are more logical and closer to the data it has been trained on. I don't know how to adjust this option in online versions. I explain to it that I don't want you to be creative right now, etc.

I don't expect AI to create a profitable strategy or robot from scratch for me.
In the first post, I also said that it is a tool that can be considered as an assistant to complete coding or make coding easier.
I also compared it to a mobile phone and how important it may be in the future.

It is not impossible for AI to teach the wrong things. I went and tested the things I asked, and most of the things I asked and it answered were correct. This doesn't mean it doesn't make mistakes; it means that the questions I asked and the things I wanted to learn from it were within the dataset it was trained on. If it answers a question incorrectly, it could be because it hasn't been trained in that area yet.

The fact that code compiles without any warnings but causes problems for the account during trading is not only specific to AI; it also happens in my code and other people's code. It's not the fault of AI or the coder who wrote it; the person who wants to use it must test it and make sure it performs 100% correctly before doing anything.

The whole point of this topic is to help each other use AI correctly, which will become an important tool in everyday life like a mobile phone in the future.

But about your overall opinion:
the issue and the overall topic you raised and the things you said as warnings are correct.
Everything you are warning about goes back to people's mindset and how they perceive a subject.

Does AI produce high-quality software? The one-word answer is no.
Is that really the case and it has no ability? No.
If you have a clear goal, the right approach, and the right expectations with a team, this tool can help you produce high-quality software.
The problem is our knowledge and expectations of a tool.

There is a common issue about a knife. Is it useful? Both yes and no.
It depends on who wants to use it, with what approach, and with what goal.

Throughout history, not just today but also in the future, humans will always have this problem in correct recognition and will fall into cognitive traps and pay the price for it.
The problem is not with AI or any new tool, new path, new cryptocurrency, or anything else new; the problem is with that person.

Thousands of years ago, multiple temples all over the planet sold promises of heaven to humans and took part of the food they had grown or the livestock they had raised in exchange for the price of heaven.
Things haven't changed since then, and pyramid schemes used the same tricks as people like Ponzi and deceived people because of their greed.
Did humanity learn after that? No.
Cryptocurrency came along, and did humanity learn? No.
AI has arrived. Will humanity learn? 100% no. Some people will definitely be deceived or deceive themselves again.

I have said this elsewhere before, and I will repeat it here:
the person who teaches you the most profitable strategy in the world is not your friend.
The person who gives you the best and most profitable robot in the world is not your friend.
The person who gives you the best and most profitable indicator in the world is not your friend.

It seems like you're looking at the issue very idealistically.

Maybe I bought it, and for example, thousands of other people who have bought pianos or other similar instruments and have them at home but never know how to use them. Whether it has helped the music community or not and has had an impact or not, whether that person has used that tool or not makes no difference to the person who produced it. They got their money.

That's why I say you've looked at the issue very idealistically because I've only talked about how we can make money with AI, not whether it can replace art or not.

But about AI being stupid and that it's generally a stupid machine, I think you didn't use the word "stupid" enough, and you should have said it a thousand more times that it's stupid because it really is. It's just a tool that we have to use intelligently.

Yes, you can definitely play a piano as a hobby. It can give you a real pleasure. However, you can’t approach trading as a hobby. If you do so, you’re a pure lunatic! I’ve got a high suspicion that you’ve never traded real money.

And yes, there are gurus—scammers—out there. They use the AI as a tool to teach “how to trade.” The common sign of those gurus/scammers is: “They aren’t able to profitable trade, so they teach ‘how to trade.’”
And you will leave pain to take care of itself.

In several of my previous posts, I tried to avoid talking about trading as much as possible for certain reasons. I mostly tried to talk about three things: coding, AI, and how to make money by making changes to AI.

I have traded with real money and have even lost my entire account balance, just like everyone else has had bad days in trading. My bad days went on until I learned a strategy that helped me stay in the financial market. Before that, I only dreamed of getting a demo account to a profitable point, like a 50% gain. Later, I easily reached a point where I doubled or tripled many demo accounts. I can't really explain more than that here, I've told you what you needed to know.

On the other hand, being in this community and seeing people's requests and perceptions of topics and issues outside of this community, the only thing I can say is that the most important and main lesson or point in this field is to accept full responsibility for your own failures and not make excuses for them, and not say that that indicator, that robot, that person, that strategy caused me to lose money. If you say that, it means you're not a responsible person and you haven't met your real friend in the financial markets yet.
