Hi..

Been trying the EA, but noticed, if placed on M1, the trade keeps failing to open when triggered. If placed on M5, it does open but not every time too; there are days, it fails to open the trade.

Hey Sam,

Thanks for downloading and testing the EA. That seems strange that it won't open the trade. What does your MT4 journal say when you test it and the order doesn't open?

Can you share a video or your settings please? Just overall details would help out a lot.

Not using EAs myself atm but I'm following your posts as some quick cursory back testing shows some good potential.

There isn't any error though; the settings I follow them exactly as per your post on the modified settings.
Will keep on testing and observe the results for some weeks....

Yesterday's positions closed and managed to pick up a trade today on Dow Jones.

Today's S&P 500 short trade. Stopped out the first time, I had to reset my computer for an external reason and the EA reset itself so it took the second short trade that hit profit.

Hi..

So I made some observations:

- Trades seem to only execute if triggered after the initial 1 hr range, and it has to be within 30 mins; means 17:30 to 18:00.
- If trades trigger after the mentioned time range of 18:00, the SL calculation always seem to be wrong.
- Most of the times, the trades won't trigger if it happens after 18:00.

Hi Sam, sounds like the you're having time setting troubles. Here's a more thorough explanation:

SL is set at the high or low of the period given.

Hi,

Yes, I know on the time settings, but the error in SL as mentioned, doesn't happen all the time; it happens only if trade opens beyond the 30 minutes windows after the IB time frame. And it's very random, most times it doesn't open the trade if it's after the 30 minutes window, but by chance if it does, then the SL will be wrongly stated. Other than these random occasions, it runs fine.

But why only 30 minute window frame after the IB and the wrong SL calculation seems to be puzzling me here...

An example today, US30.

Interestingly, it did not take the trade at the break above but in the middle with a Sell and SL is just above it. Trade was triggered after the 30 minute window I mentioned in my other post.

That could be due to slippage, try changing your slippage to "0.01", don't go down to "0.00" or it won't work.

Also, please show me your settings and the candles that you're trying to get the high and lows of. Maybe I can help you out.

Today's trades were mostly manual.

S&P 500 Futures

EA triggered the short position, but was stopped out. I didnt reset the EA and manually traded it instead with a 10 pip target.

NASDAQ Futures

As attached is my setting used on the M5. My TP is 0.0 as it's inserted by another EA.

Sam, I see everything is okay but the TP shouldn't be zero. The TP is calculated as a percent of the SL. Here's an example of how the TP works and why it shouldn't be zero.

But, with the TP as 0, it shouldn't caused the entry to be triggered in the middle of the IB instead at the breakout and the SL to be few pips away instead of the full range of IB right?
