hello great traders
i was been caught in a strong trend in xauusd, i think i follow the rules corectly.

but now what you would sugest to take profit to not been in a loss? at the 200EMA?

To follow just the rules is mechanical trading and this will lead to loss when this strats weakness (the big ass trend) comes along like it has today. There is no need for so many entries. When you suspect its a strong trend is in progress wait for volume to drop off and a 9 ema cross/trendline break before thinking is it time to get more orders in.

The 200 is our ema yes but you dont have to stop at the ema. If you have a feel for PA and all that, you can wait it out longer to see if price will keep moving. If you have a good margin left in the tank and its early enough in the session by all means reach further than the 200. Worst case its a 200 ema bounce and you're back to countering. Do what feels right.

I did mostly counter trend trading today, missing the 200 BE+small profit exit around 13:30. Exited on the second 200 touch with a decent profit. Going to try more trend trading off the 200 tomorrow.

btw,you think trading xauusd with this strategy its dangerous?i should stick with the basic eurusd,gbpusd...etc?

You are too aggressive, learn to be patience.
emaS just tools to help us to see the direction of the market.
It take times to understand how the market move.

you have some advice for this counter trend strategy? its something that can make us enter better in a trade?

I think you should not use any other pair than eu until you gain experience, xauusd is very volatile. I made the same mistake as you.

Trend trade is good after sideways.

The xauusd right now PROBABLY heading back to ema 200 soon.

Aye as said, stick to EU, GU and EG until you have a firm grasp of what's going on. I've been at the counter strat for nearly two years and I'm in no hurry to go back to gold.

The best advice is to just practice. There is no secret. Learn to be comfortable in draw down. Be very aware of your margin and accept that sometimes you'll go into mad drawdown for very little profit.

EG is the easiest pair. It's kinda slow but that's ideal for getting comfortable with the strategy. The dollar pairs are more likely to go on strong trends. For instance you had to be really careful about shorting UC recently, it keeps pumping into high time frame resistance, getting short before those levels are rejected is a guaranteed way of taking heat. When you gain a grasp of market structure things will become far more intuitive.

Thank you very much for the offer however I find MT5 hard to work and have settled back into TradingView as a platform. I could try moving back with your MT5 layout however I cant grasp how you trade so well.

I follow the basic rules of KOF strategy, and I don't use additional indicator in my phone, Just original KOF.
I already said that, I choose my entry follow the market condition, ranging or trending.
