Microstrategy - their business model: I buy a digital nothing burger with billions of other peoples money and hodl it to pump the price higher.

What could ever go wrong with such a brilliant strategy?

 

1. They currently "own" 461000 BTC and bought them at an average price of 63610 USD
2. They finance their purchases mainly through convertible bonds
3. Their 21/21 plan over the next 3 years has the goal to raise 21 billion USD equity and 21 billion convertible bonds to purchase more BTC
4. Their business software only generates marginal income compared to their high risk gambling bet
5. However, they have enough btc being able to manipulate the price of btc and that might generate some profits
6. They invest all their investors money in something with zero real value and zero real value creation - but hey, they even invest in a Donald and a Melania meme coin, that is even a dumber idea.
7. The only way this bet stays over water is they don't run out of dumb money from retail investors buying high risk convertible bonds for some lumpy interest risking 100% of their money
8. Someone will hold the bag in the end - and boy, this will be huge one.
9. It is so hey would love to see the goverment (or better the general public) is holding the final bag and actively working on it
10. If politics and the American people are stupid enough to let that happen, they deserve getting robbed

I see many ways how this bet can go belly up, but I don't place a bet. With a total market cap over 3000 billion USD, I think the collaps of the crypto market will have a negative impact on those who do not own cryptos as well. It became just too big:

 

1. In 2008/2009 their where about 2672 billions USD in asset backed securities at the peak - so less than total market cap of crypto today
2. While their was certain a percentage of real value (real estate) behind these financial instruments, there is absolutly zero real value behind crypto in my opinion.
3. A burst of the crypto bubble might therefore already have worse consequences than what has been seen in the GFC
4. The main difference will be no one is comming to safe crypto owners - at least I truely hope so that the world isn't that stupid.
5. Further more there is extensive leverage in the market (forced selling in a downturn) and the motivation to own crypto is purely speculative
6. What happens in El Salvador and with Microstrategy might be early signs they start to run out of new suckers......
7. The emergence of Doge coins, Trump coins, Melania coins and so many other meme coins on Solana..... peak stupidity, or what is the next level?

Ok, the next level of the crypto mania is clear:

 

1. Trump administration wants to force a crypto reserve onto its citizens. Can one man just do it and congress and senate are bypassed? That seems highly unrealistic, but America is run by fools so who knows?
2. Doing so, this brings the liquidity for the crypto wales to bail out without causing an immediate crash
3. The risk of holding a worthless digital nothing is transfered from the crypto criminals to the normal citizens who never voted or decided to own crypto at all. Most of them won't understand what is happening. This way crypto criminals are fleecing the US taxpayer while being protected by the felon POTUS and his admin. He already did his own scam with $TRUMP meme coin.
4. As soon as this risk transfer is done - the crypto market will likely lose about 90 +/- 5 % of its market cap
5. Without significant regulation, the crypto criminals will come back and again take control of the market using part of their criminal gains to create a floor, at least in the cryptos with a limited max supply.
6. Then they start the next fraud cycle by controlling the supply side and invest an other portion of their gains in marketing efforts to rebuild the demand side. Propaganda works - every year new suckers are born and old suckers are sucked in again, because they are addicted gamblers.
7. Base case: They will fleece retail traders on a daily base again, like they do it retail forex since decades.

If the Americans are stupid enough to go along with this, they will be sucked out by this negative sum game ^2 for losers in an epic way. A lot of money will be transfered to very bad actors. If you want to keep your democracy, you have to win this battle.

If you want to get rid of Trump and his minions - use the market manipulation data from the last 7 trading days. I bet you find insider trading of epic proportions, certainly enough to lock many of them away for decades based on current, existing laws. Democrates should focus on this - even MAGA can understand such crimes are bad for them. But not only US autorities should look into it. Much better if all financial regualtors all over the globe start independent investigations based on what happened in their own jurisdictions.

Maybe they got to greedy and this will break their neck. Let's hope so and make sure regulators kick into action globally. Spread the word - ask for investigations - build political pressure - create awareness.

If your state is already corrupted to a level where this is no longer possible, good night American democracy.
