there is difference in opinion about hips and lops, some say 3 bars others say 5 bars???? as with any pattern/set up it matters more where they are on the chart than the pattern just appearing.

some stuff for you that may help as again things run deeper than just a quick read or look for a good full understanding of what/how/when to use them, I have the book but due to new regulations I can only post the link for you.

thanks for the help my friend, that is some good examples of time/place/variations of them to seeing some good hips/lops set ups.

I used 5 bars as hip/Lop but the market always tricked me with the 3 bars Hip/Lop. I wanted to know which is the correct one.

but for me the answer lays somewhere in-between, you can not put a rigid definition on things in trading, just use things as a base idea for you to take note of if think they may be of use to you, some of the issue is a lot of stuff has been removed/deleted which I understand makes it more difficult to understand, continue to read that page this post is on to get fti's view and what I have just said should make more sense hopefully.

I would not normally post something deep like this, but while watch it ignore the words that tell the story as it is presented, replace those words with things to do with trading and the market itself.

I am hoping this will help you understand some of the 'process' of the market working in all it's forms, that is my hope but in reality I fear few may not truly understand as it is not easy to put into words of explanation and depth.

Ok I realise my answer may leave you with more questions and maybe you think I have not answered you in the way you wanted, the truth is I have (in my reality), but maybe you are still having trouble coming to a point of understanding, I do not know how much you understand about quantum and its workings, it is like the schrödinger's cat in the box theory/puzzle, anyway it is a thought experiment that illustrates the paradox of quantum superposition and the difficulties of interpreting quantum theory, basically until it is 'observed' the cat is both dead and alive (to simplify it), when you open the box you see (observe) the reality that may or may not have lined up with any of your own expectations (but until that point it is/was an expectation nothing else), also we have the double slit experiment, in this we can see the results but they do not make sense to anyone so again (as we do not know for sure) they call it quantum superposition (just a new made up name), you maybe saying to yourself wtf does this have to do with trading and my answer to your question at this point in time, well until the bar is complete we can not know at what price that may be or what shape it will be, the only fact we do know is how long it will take for that reality to be observed, the same goes for all patterns and all open close high and lows within the know time sequence that we are looking at, so all that leaves us with really is the facts we know like time and market news, opens and closes of exchanges and from this we can start to take an educated 'guess' at some probabilities and possibilities, in short we can never be sure of the outcome until it has happened/revealed itself to us, but as I said we can use what we have and things that we know that hold these good possibilities and probabilities, these last 3 videos I have posted are in the hope of people understanding these facts about (in this case) the market/charts and any thing we can see but not do not understand why, as in the double slit experiment where we can see an unexpected result but we can only create the circumstances that makes that unexpected outcome happen and have to accept we do not yet know why or how this happens, then we have the lady above explaining how to deal with things we can not know for sure but can gather information on the go/as it moves by use of 'scouts and solders' without any bias to the outcome (AOW).

Here is the quantum experiments and how this guy comes to his conclusions of what is going on.



rigid prediction or bias is dangerous, there are other ways to guide and explore information to lead you into the flow of ??? anything!.

Thanks for your explanation, but why do we analyse since the outcome is a probability? This may be the reason behind the use of Scout.

if we do not know the possible better areas to trades that may hold a greater probability of success, and possible area on confluence that price may head to then we just trading blind, markets move in different directions to get to high value targets to fill/exit orders, on the battlefield we need to know what type of move we are taking on and if we are to near or not a strong point to make a decision as to taking a trade, scouting is not just about your entries to test ideas without any knowledge of what we may be getting into, remember AOW teachings here.

to me your entries look vrtually the same as i would of done and marked on the charts above.

we all need to know if our thoughts and actions are at least somewhere in line with others that hold similar beliefs and have read similar things to create our own journey, so no you questioning is valid not stupid at all, to me your trade looks good quaility and almost exactly what i would of done as marked out in my charts, well done looks like you are way down the line in our similar understanding of our friend's fti work.
