Good positive points so far today
Tempted to have a break, and do other things for a while

DOW has closed the gaps, as expected, closed longs at the round number and at the top of Fib bands - confluence of things


many positive points today!
I am done for the day. There is still D pivot - PA might miss it for today, if so, a possible target for later

D pivot has been achieved
Technically almost perfect with the gaps closure and reaching the D Pivot, and this on a lower volume compared to the average of the last five days.
Profits have been taken when they were there, a good practice too.

Tomorrow there might be also a big gap as it is now, we shall see, poss a retest of the 42700 zone
Wednesdays often are a high volatility days, DOW looks bullish
Tomorrow some more earnings data, PMO and AMC, so fireworks before the session open and towards the NYSE session close and after the close in relation to that data
get ready to take positive points tomorrow

Let see which way dump and pump (d&p) or p&d will be a wining strategy for today
I am expecting d&p, gap present and D Pivot above, looks like mS1 to mR2 also W Pivot 43106 region

Very short lived longs

Had to run for cover as 750, 3 quarter has not converted to the long side,
Thinking to go long again, but waiting for the downside momentum to reverse

yes a far to short, got out just below 750 - it was a larger position, so no messing - when profits were there on a sign of possible intraday weakness - get out
I still have a bullish bias for the DOW, H4 has to come in play, and a bid move north on cards

I had a short bias the whole day mainly because of the higher timeframes. I liked a lot how PA was setting up for shorts

I am watching PA on m5 m1 when it is close to the 20ema on any higher frame. As an example
While long positions still can work . It is against the primary trend for now

closed the DOW long with a -40 points, have been away and when I came back the position was under water, so I covered it with a small loss

The weekly WRB in progress and Daily 3 black crows look impressive indeed.
I was aware that daily was printing the possibility of a further PB, have missed that and have not taken advantage of that.

I am considering the subject of "WILLFULL BLINDNESS" and "MINDFUL BLIDNESS", as yesterday was a prefect example of some kind of blindness.
Applied discipline has been of paramount importance, so the day has still been profitable, but I have been fighting the trend on a lower TFs.
After some more thoughts and contemplation on that subject a might post more.
I am doing it for myself, and a record of it if posted shall be of some assistance to myself and possibly in a smaller measure to others.

So far:

WILLFULL BLINDNESS - consciously determined, habitually determined, unconsciously determined? It demands an act of the will. Heuristics elements and the role of established and well rooted habits.
MINDFUL BLNDNESS- does not mean accidental, nor purposefully brought about, though mindful apply such a possibility. Not sure this is correct and helpful terminology.
BLINDNESS - Does not necessarily mean I cannot see

Why I am Susceptible to it, when, what are the contributing factors, and how to grow awareness of such a possibility leading to positive avoidance, case by case - as resolution might be not enough

Is there a remedy, if so - how to proceed, can it be totally eliminated (probably not), how to grow resilience and how practically apply it and cultivate that resilience and a positive sides of taking responsibility.
Consequential application to trading

I do not know how to respond sensibly, so forgive me to repeat the obvious.

There is so much more than a few charts I posted here.
I have pointed it before, and do it once again, although I am tired to repeat the things that are obvious to me and I have pointed them before.

It comes with the concept of PASR as one entity, or PA and SR as closely linked but with some demarcation between them. How one looks at that is a fluid choice one makes and it is good to know the difference, and it is important to be aware of the given choice, closely linked to the reality of different TFs.

There are different charts, continuous future cash charts which open on Sunday night and run till late Friday evening and charts which display only a session activity in case of DOW, NASDAQ, S&P500 only the NYSE session is displayed, both are useful. On MT4 by using session candle bars both are displayed though some other things are slightly compromised, especially if one compares the two different displays. I use both charts continually displayed as the other charting software makes provision to set the exact time of the session to be displayed, versus MT4. Usually the difference is not that huge and the utility of that difference is linked to applied trading strategies.

The OHLC data is important, but for example, OHLC on M1 chart is of less utility to me than OHLC of a NYSE session, that is if one looks at a longer TFs. That does not mean that OHLC on short TFs is useless. While it is possible to buy different types of historic data including different TFs. I have limited my preparation to the NYSE session OHLC for the DOW. Data of DOW NYSE OHLC for the last 20 years is freely available, and more if one is committed to find it or buy it.
One can calculate and/or display different things related to the OHLC of a candle bar on any TF, things like pivots, Fibs ect.
Since early 90ties I have chosen to pay attention to the Daly and Session OHLC.

OHLC are essential to calculate Pivot points, and be aware of gaps.

In early 90ties I calculated pivot points manually, now they are drown automatically!!!

Gaps are of great importance to me, and according to what I have read on many occasions, gaps are important to trading indices too.
GAP to the last session close - a self explanatory concept - does not occur only when the current session open matches the previous session close, so usually there is a gap.
By using Excel based simple program (specific calculations) one is able to use OHLC to create a statistical based approach and apply probability for the gap to be filled in a given period of time ( a current session, following session ect). That same applies to the intersession gaps, which in effect are also gaps to the last session close, but PA surpasses the last secession extreme L/H. I call them intersession gaps. For the gap calculations I use percentages. Percentages are useful for the calibration of statistical data and probability calculus. For example if the session opens with the gap to the last session close and the % value is 0.55%, the probability of closure in the current session is 78% and 45% probability in the following session if that gap has not been filled. Likewise at times I trade the gap between the current price and the last session close before the NYSE session open. One of the trading software I use always displays the point value and percentage value of the current price to to the last session close, very useful!
This kind of statistically derived probability is very useful to me.
Be assured this is a very basic and simple stuff based on a usually freely available data, concepts are basic. what it takes is to program excel to do the work.
I cannot share that particular calculations on a forum due to some proprietary issues, but one can easily program a similar thing.

The above I use in relation to the concept of S/R and PTs obviously alongside or together with PA principles I also use some simple other things like fibs and chart basic patterns on different TFs and ADR H and L (as long tome ago I have paid thousands for a similar program, Vantage Point, lesson learned).
I also use other things pointed and usually described to some degree in this journal.
