Having written EA’s for about 10 years, I have yet to have met anyone that makes consistent money in Forex… Let alone, using automated systems. There are some that make money for a while, but Ive never seen one last for more than 6 months. I personally use very custom price indicators ive written and manually send my trades to my EA which manages the trade. Its a hybrid approach, half manual half automated. Its the only thing so far that seems to work over time.

I'm currently using this EA and I'm amazed by the results. It has a high win rate and uses artificial intelligence. However, when it takes a loss, it can be significant.
The key strategy is to secure 80% profit from the account once the EA doubles the balance.
I'm using the first version, V3.8. Make sure to do your own testing before using it.

I was running several EAs on a cloud based server and they returned about 38% in 3 months. Donald Trump then broke them all, so they are disabled until the world returns to some form of normality.

If I could figure out how to programmatically determine market structure, I could try to program my manual trading strategy, but I've never managed to do it.

I got the same problem. My EA's hit a rough patch with all the strange volatility. If you are Choch and Bos trader, I have code that will mark that up, or if you need HH, HL, LH, LL, there is plenty of code out there to mark traditional market structure. If you have to get back to manual trading I would suggest getting some code that will track market profile and volume profile. It will make you more accurate.

Most retail EAs break down because they rely on static logic in dynamic conditions. You might want to explore machine learning approaches or hybrid systems that incorporate basic structure recognition (like swing highs/lows or trendline breaks) with adaptive risk management
