I am taking a look at an other simple system, not trading it yet will just be comparing results vs what I'm doing now. Just 2 indicators BB with 10 midline and rsi set to 10 periods. Also eliminated OB/OS of 70-30 and changed both to 50. Entries are when price crosses midline and rsi is crossing above or below 50 line. Exit when 2 candles in a row go against you or price crooses midline.

Just to finish the convo on a good note because it is Rocky's thread and to once again applaud Rocky for introducing me to MA Channel, here is my day so far.

Well this is interesting. I pretty much took every entry signal. I tried with RSI only to take entries where price was crossing the 50 line or close to bouncing it off it. Still wound up with 13 trades. 11 winners, 1 loser and 1 B/E. for 180 plus ticks. Obviously this only 1 day. We'll see how it looks over next couple of weeks. At this point worth a look.

He didn't like it is the only reason anyone has to give for not trading a particular instrument.

If you look at my charts the brick size is there, right now it's 5. Brick size is ticks not $, never seen anyone use $size bricks. When trading futures spreads should never be an issue, forex is a different story.

Just uploaded newest version of ninja trader 8, all your workspaces etc. will be saved. Not so much spent some time re doing workspaces. I like ninja trader for the most part, but their updates always an issue. One thing i could say about TOS their platform and updates were closes to perfect. And if there was an issue they notified you to wait for a fix.

I've noticed you've started testing using the MACD and a version of RSI I am not familiar with... Do you still use the Williams %R? If not, could you please explain why you find the other trend indicators better suited for this strategy? Thanks.

Hello there, maybe dumb question but whats your indicator with the 2 doted lines ? i got renko and macd on nt8 but can't find the dotted line

When I started this thread it was after a long break from trading. I was travelling with my wife full time. Then covid hit and to keep from going nuts I started trading again. I started trading with 15 min candles, then quickly to 5 min. because it was too slow. WPR worked well with time based candles. But once I went to range based candles it produced too many signals. I've used all of these indicators successfully at one point or another. Ultimately for me it's what I'm comfortable with both mentally and visually. Right now that's the MACD. They are all momentum indicators. The RSI and WPR I don't use in the typical ways. The MACD I use with generally std. settings. Right now looking at what happened with RSI and BB chart there are too many signals. Today it worked fine but too many signals eventually becomes a problem. So I'll be looking into that.

Thank you for the quick response. I read the first few pages of this thread and had an idea (similar strategy, different tools.) So far, so good! Wanted to give thanks however noticed in the last few pages of this threat you were using a somewhat different system. Just wanted to make sure your move away from the WPR wasn't due to something else. Thanks again and I wish you continued success.

Hi Rocky

Your thread was recommended to me by another ES trader recently so I thought I would drop in and see what happens here. Also I noticed that driven18 is also here, an old trading buddy of mine from a few years back when we traded together in a closed trading group (Hi Buddy).

Now

As I am a ES trader myself, I thought I would have a go at trading with Renko Bars which I have never traded before in my 25 years trading career.
Man - I must say the idea of Renko Bars / Heinkin Ashi Combo is very impressive so I thought I would trial it this week during quiet periods.

Here is my version of Renko Bar trading, it's just how I see it the best way to do it FOR ME. I am not saying my method is any better than any other traders her. Now if we trade ES on a Futures Platform, why the hell wouldn't we use the Delta tools we pay for if we use level 2 data anyway.

Tonight I traded up a storm for a couple of hours during the London session and was very impressed indeed.
The tools I used on a Renko Chart are standard on my MotiveWave program.

1.. Zigzag to measure every swing
2.. 5 EMA Shift 3 for Entry and Exit.
3.. Cumulative Delta Indicator.
4.. Delta Indicator
5.. Volume / Delta Dials set at 15 seconds.

As you can see, the Delta Indys just work a treat - the goal of staying alive and avoiding quick profits seems to make a hell of a difference.

Think I may move forward with this project, thanks for your work here.
I also agree with your statement that trading is about the "Trader, not the System".

Open indicator click on ema then click on data series another box will open to let you change to high or low.

Greetings RickM I've seen your posts over time always impressed with your attitude towards other people. Plus your trading experience and thoughtful posts. The best way to trade is with what makes you comfortable so any system you make with renko/heiken ashi hybrid candles is great. Hopefully you'll let us know
how it's going. Any thoughts or ideas on how to improve their use are welcome. Maybe you could explain how you use cumulative delta. I think most people aren't too familiar with that indicator.

Another busy morning in what's been an excellent week. PA when I started today showed an approx. 1 hour down trend. My first trade was a bullish dvrg. against the trend for a nice win, Took 4 trades as trend stayed bullish. Then went short on bearish dvrg. followed a long to see if uptrend got reestablished.
It did not, so right now price is moving sideways with slight drift down. So 6 trades for the day all wins.
