SPX about the same.... ~$7.50 for 25-wide @45dte...I'll be looking to roll out to something like that by the end of this week.

started out with this Jan 18, $8 credit...

...then, by Feb2 closed the above for a net $1 gain, and entered

...for $5.65 credit....then, rolled up the puts on Feb 9 for $1.75 gain. I'm in the same trade now, with 10dte, at a net credit of $7.40

The buy-back is at $5.65, I will watch for that to go down some, or roll for more credit. More value still in the calls, so I'm looking for a pullback...

...the net daily theta on the calls has come up to -$0.31/day, for the puts, -$0.17....

The fuzzy goal on these is to net out >$4 per month on the ICs, I'm usually in sets of about 10. As seen above, I'm in profit about $3 from the start @Jan18. I expect that to get to >$4net this week. That $4k/month is used to pad the margin accounts and to fund other debit trades. $4/month is pretty weak but that reflects the low vol conditions....

If I roll, I'll just go to Mar opex, pre-FOMC, and maybe pick up another $1.50-$2.00 credit, & will wait til after Wednesday to do it.

I cut the calls loose first and then fml the market dropped, but in the last 30min she roared back and I cut the puts, all told, about $4.35 for the cycle and I am flat on ICs, waiting to see if NVDA blows it all to kingdom cum

shopping new IC @ 30dte, I'd want to be out b4 the Mar FOMC. looking at 20 delta max either side, 25-wide, 30dte +/-, will probly be hard to get over $7.25 or so. Might try legging in on a little rally to close the week...

...funded debit trades are typically low- or no-risk time spreads in XSP or other correlated names (co to the trades in the IC).....if SPX continues north I might use profits from the XSP trade to help roll up the bear calls.

On a nominal $100k account, getting $4k from IC's per month is of course a 4% monthly return, The added directional trades sometimes add a lot to that, and sometimes they eat into it. Remains to be seen what kind of stable return I can achieve - I haven't always included the monthly ICs in my trading plan. Will be trying it out thru 2024....

Just 2 days in and this IC has almost made a buck. It has not moved off where it was when I entered not more than 10 pts. Tasty "doctrine" is enter @ 45dte and manage at 21 dte/ Well, I entered at 29dte and that's because I wanted to be sure I would close b4 the Mar FOMC. Will I manage at 21 dte? Probably not. I'd like to get about 1/2 of that original $7.50 credit, will probably hang in, roll if need be, until I hit that. If the spoos wants to go sideways until FOMC week, that's ok by me.

I am hanging in on the Mar22 IC. Waiting to see if JPOw sinks the market some on Wed. I doubt he can, but I only need a 100-pt drop to help me out on challenged calls. I will think about rolling up the puts once more this week. 18dte now and the calls are giving $0.20/day in net theta - the puts only a nickel.

I have no inside knowledge with SEC business. The SEC regulates the exchanges and I'm sure it's something they are considering. Might be this year, might be never.

Big paper losses on the btfd rebound, lol. Daily net theta creeping up, now -$0.23 on the calls, -$0.09 on the puts. I continue to ride the pig, crossing fingers for more downside off the NFP....
