Pure speculation, but I’m holding my shorts. LaGarde wasn’t going to speak today, but now she is. My guess is they will try to control the EURUSD from going too high. This coupled with the fact that Germany is now experiencing downturn, it could indicate that LaGarde will be dovish. We will find out by 5PM what price action does.
Powell might have to raise rates in March if China and Brazil keep selling bonds. Everything is still saying long term bearish

Although he absolutely should’ve raised rates, he cannot anymore, time for that has passed. The US needs the inflation because they are in a bit of a debt spiral. If he raises too much and causes a recession, the US will become insolvent. The inflation lowers the cost of debt significantly. A fiscally irresponsible country in charge of the world reserve currency. Europe will support the US no doubt, which is why I believe they will even it out with a dovish Europe so the dollar becomes more valuable. But that is just my speculation.

it is a tough situation for them indeed. It doesn’t help that everyone buying stocks right now in hopes of inflation going down are actually raising inflation itself from buying so crazy.

FED has around 7.5 Trillion on their balance sheet holding up the markets

Look at any stocks price action from March of 2020 till today. Now someone tell me we aren’t in a bubble.

Bubble or not...

Investors, so far, have shrugged off the Fed’s cautious tone on interest rates and focused on the AI fervor. But that could change as a big inflation data point is due this week that could spook Wall Street.

The personal-consumption expenditures index, the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge, will be released Thursday. This comes on the heels of recent hot consumer and wholesale prices that delivered a one-two punch to markets.

If the PCE data surprises on the upside that could dampen the markets...
