Hi everyone, never posted here but have been reading a long time now. I am new to fx and hopefully i am not spamming. But, i don't understand how these news got the pa up when it was good for the usd... i am really confused... could someone pls explain in a few words ? Ty in advance, and also sry if i am off topic...

Confluence broke, stopped out 2 shorts.
Now, focus on long positions from yesterday.
Will attempt to short again from the channel upper border.

Welcome.. I can see that you have a lot to learn.. Good luck!

We are not here to teach things, but since you asked here is a quick explanation of what is happening:

Last week I shared the chart below, expecting price to bounce up from AB=CD level: 1.07405... That didn't happen and we had to deal with a dive towards next supportive level: 1.0694 area.. There I was waiting to see if bulls could recover or not because often AB=CD can still kick in even after being violated. 1.0694 was weeks earlier strong resistance, and I now expected it to turn to support. And it did. So we are watching bulls trying to reverse this whole corrective move that started right before we entered new year. At times like this, news have not much effect on the chart because technicals had been ignored for so long that it had to react somewhere, despite news. And so it did today.

Just my personal opinion of course. I hope it answers...

On the fundamentals side: Chinas slow combined with 2nd quarters of gdp decline in UK, growth stagnation in eurozone, gdp contraction in japan and the newly released m/m core retail sales decline in USA may bring about risk off mood and boost dollar. What do yall think. USA makes up 15 percent of global economy.

Hi Marius,

The todays news were mixed, but with declination to USD rise. So your expectation is correct. But the reality is opposite because of the market expectation about FED’s interest rate cut. Bad data = rise of the chance of the rate cut = more USD on the market = lower USD

1.0820-30 is my next target, tp and shorts, bounce is likely and chance to move stops. This is agreement area, extensions and 61.8 H4 previous swing + channel upper border.

It is, if it keeps going by the time D1 closes it will be signal to take out the lows.
I am going to sell some here at 1.0760
