Hello to all you "gridders" out there...I have tried Ikarus_4.75___flexATR_May_2023 and found out that the CCI indicator didn't work at all. So I've fixed it with the help of AI coding... and now it works. Also I have made a bunch of visual changes to make the entire chart more user friendly and easier to read. I've tried to display closed profits as text labels in $/pips on the chart above the candles like in the "AW Recovery / AW Trend Predictor" or "EA Black Dragon" but I have failed to do so. Maybe a very good coder can do it? This version...

Hello dear gridders!
I'm very excited to share with you the new, completely re-written 2024 version of Ikarus, which changed so much, so that I have renamed it to "FLEXY THE DRAGON" if you don't mind, as I didn't like the name so much...
Before you throw eggs on me... hold your horses, as this version is able to... are you ready for this?
Yes, it's able to trade almost EVERY INDICATOR (with buffers). And not just one, up to 3 additional indicators, also in combination with the Bollinger, RSI, Stoch, CCI. And that's not all. You can also use now the option "strict signals" to open new grids only, if there is a valid signal. And if that's not enough, it's also able to use any indicator as exit trigger, which will close the entire grid.
It also displays now the profits directly on the chart, in green color for positive winners and red color for negative loosers. If there is more than one trade closed, it also displays how many orders where closed at the same time (in brackets). This was one of the hardest part to figure out how to code...
I have also completely re-ordered and described the settings to make it more userfriendly and understandable. At the same time I've tried to keep the names of the old settings, so we know what we are talking about. There is also a mini-guide under the custom indicator settings, which explains how to set up the indicators (as there are different types of indicators out there).
Yes, I know this should be actually not for free... This could cost easy $499... but hey, I've just modified it and I could never code the entire EA, as I don't really know how to code. It took quite a few weeks to do this with the help of different AI tools. If you like to support me, feel free to do so, but of course only if you have earned some money with it!
ATTENTION: There is just one minor bug, which I couldn't fix on my own and that's the auto lot size. If you use auto lot size (true), then as soon as you use any kind of stop loss and it gets triggered, there will be an error in the journal and it will not open any more trades. If someone could have a look into it, that would be awesome. I think it has something to do with the calculation based on the last balance/equity. For now leave it to "false" and adjust the lot size manually.
And one more tipp: If you want to backtest faster, turn off all three "show..." options in the beginning (on top) of the settings.
Anyhow I wish everyone lots of fun with this new tool and feel free to share any of your favourite set files and indicator setups for Flexy The Dragon v2...

I'm still experimenting with the PTL "Perfect Trend Line" indicator by Mladen / Mrtools, as this is almost the same like the "Point Zero Day Trading" or the "Donchian Breakout" indicator, but it's for free and is very lightweight:

This is also a good example for the "Empty" and "Price" type indicator settings with its buffers:
For your base/main trend line you can try a PTL-120/240/480 (=1/2/4 weeks) as "Price" type indicator with buffers "0" for buy/sell, as this is just using the line of the PTL indicator. This will represent the weekly/monthly trend. And for the entry you can use the arrows of the same indicator, but as a PTL-3 (period 3) as "Empty" type indicator with buffer "5" for buy and "4" for sell. That's working like a breakout following the high/lows of the last 3 candles on the H1 chart.
In this way it will place new orders each time the price starts to trend again in the main direction. So it's not always trading, it leaves room for the price to retrace and then enters on those short 3 candle breakouts.
For the grid spacing you can try 20-40 pips with max. 10 orders and take profit of 10-20 pips with partical closing 2 (close the grid as soon as possible using the last order's profit to close the oldest orders) and with a lot multiplier 1.5.
That's right. Always make backtests in the strategy tester (control points and every tick) and also on a demo account to make sure everything works 100% before you touch any of your real money to trade with!
If you turn all indicators off, then the EA will place trades without any indicators all the time. So you might use for example the Bollinger Bands indicator and set the deviaton to 99 or sth similar, so the EA won't place any trades automatically. Just try it on demo and see if that works.

Hi thanks for that, basically choose an indicator with a variable it will never reach, good idea!
For a future release I'd suggest something like a "manual mode" where it will only control trades not placed by the EA, just being controlled by the magic number 0.

Please can you upload the PTL indicator? I dont get where to put in this nummbers into the EA. Can you upload a picture? Thanks!
Did you read the mini guide under the custom indicator settings? Empty is for arrow type of indicators, Value is for oscillators, Price is for trend lines (like moving averages) and Cross is the same, but it triggers only once, if price crosses the line.
Wow, this should be really not for free... lol, now I'm even doing here customer support...
