Ok got back at 10 and decided to trade a little longer. Decent start to the New Year. 6 trades 5 wins and 1 loss.

I have been spending the holiday reviewing all the posts to this thread. Really great work.

Got a couple of questions, as I traded in demo this morning with your same setup.

1) How are you getting filled on the exact bar that the ADX cross is occuring on? When I was doing it this morning, sometimes after the 25 cross, a couple of new bars would immediately follow leading me with a late entry

2) I noticed that you use Renko 4 recently, but earlier you were using Renko 8. When do you determine to use a different Renko setting?

I also placed some great trades on MNQ today using this method (with Renko 20).

I use larger renko when when volume is high to slow things down a bit. As far as getting filled I tend to anticipate a candles closing, Plus i have a ton of RAM and a very fast CPU which I think helps. Also I trade hard wired never with Wifi which definitely helps.

Any idea as to why there's a slight discrepancy in our charts, particularly around the ADX placement? Do you use Ninjatrader's "CME_TOP" data?

Looks like your lower level line is set to 30, and rocky uses 25.

This is a sim trade as I do not trade this late in the day. I had some time this afternoon and started to look into your use of the ADX, rocky. The ADX and DM go hand in hand, so I put the two together in the same panel and I am interested in looking into this tool further, i.e. the adx/dm combined.

EDIT: I was a little late as I wasn't looking for a trade so I had to switch over to the sim acount, etc. If I were focused on trading I think I may have been able to get in one bar earlier, but with these renko HA bars it is tough to tell in hindsight what it would have been in real time. This is definitely NOT a hindsight method!

I think you would need to shorten the periods otherwise, somr decent trades will pass by, good luck let me know what you find.

If you look at some of my recent screen shots posted here in rocky's thread you'll see I use the %R indi similar to how rocky used it in the first part of the thread. I am not at this time trading the M15 candlestick version.

Anyone using Ninjatrader to trade rocky's renko heikin ashi method should consider downloading this free Bar Status indicator from ninza.com:

[Free] Numbers Bars on NT8 (Minute, Tick, Volume) - ninZa.co

It is FREE and I am in no way affiliated with the comapny. What the bar status inidcator does is it tells you on your chart at what exact price the next up or down renko bar will print.

For example, in the 21 renko HA of the NQ below, the next down candle will print at 16461.25 and the next up candle will print if price trades 16476.75. Since price is in a downtrend, I would set a sell stop at 16461.25 for a possible continuation lower.

I have used this indicator on all the futures I have traded with rocky's method, which includes the ES/MES (SP500), the MNQ/NQ (US Tech 100), the 6B (GBPUSD) and the 6E (EURUSD).

It does not make all my trades winners, but it lets me get in many that otherwise would have run too quickly for me to get into.
