I had a brief chat with my broker just a min ago and they said today's gap was simply massive stop hunting by large players in an extremely thin market and that is why we will see more official regulation on the markets in a not so distant future. To many millions and billions are being manipulated by the few I guess. I feel bad for all those who lost money on dollar longs over the weekend or during last week, but you made the decision to keep your position over the weekend yourself and stuff like this can happen. You know the opening hours of your brokers and if you are not pleased with them, move to another one, or simply change trading style. Good luck to all of you in this coming week. Indeed its quite 'stupid' that the price is made only from demand/offer without considering a minimum amount of money involved in it.
So if we play, only me and you, and you buy 100.000 euro and I sell 300.000 $ the $ should be back to his place ....

The problem is that this disoriented many, and now the pcicological influence of the new price is a reality.

I know what a gap is, so I am trying to learn something new when you say they are usually filled. What makes you say that.

Large gaps like this are very few and far between in forex. Don't waste your time trying to learn about things that happen every few months, when you can learn about things that happen everyday. Forget the gap. Move on.

LOL!! The minute I get my strategy down, I will split my currency into JPY, USD, AUD, CAD, GBP, EUR and CHF. That way I wont be so heavily "invested" in one economies currency.

15-20% per currency : )

Book "Technical Analysis Applications in the Global Currency Markets" by Cornelius Luca says that. I am too dumb to invent anything new. But b/c I know my limitations, I try to learn from the best sources, which usually get me in at the less risky times. So I know if I shoot from the hip is suicide.
Yes, right to Twinchell and now stupid me, look at my charts, cause on Oanda there is not a gap !!! The gap is in charting programs or services that simply did not show as price started to change at 12 PM... or they were closed !!!

LOL, so went Australia and New Zealand opened, there was no gap? Forget about the "gap?" then, it means nothing.

A break below the technical support level of 1.9340 will be the first indication of a larger correction towards the 1.9250 level. all of the currencies are retracing back to there origin before the gap so whoever said that the normal thing when there is a gap if for them to get filled back to where they started from was spot on. already closed my position out and there wasnt much to play with for scalping ranges, japanese session blows, i like the US session. These are slowely retracing to point 0 but its to late to join the party now cause didnt know untill it was to late really.

I hope the London open gives us something to care about
