Williams%R, SAR X-over 15 minute candles

I sent copies of charts to ninjatrader see what they say. So far hasn't caused me any issues with trades.

yeah you are doing way better than me the skill you have to cut ur loseres fast and let the winners run is what makes all the difrence ,and i think its very objective thing

Cutting your loss quickly is simple decide that as soon as a candle forms against you get out. You can always re-enter. example if I take a 4 tick loss trading 1 contract of es my loss is $50 If I let my stop get hit it's $250. So If I wind up re-entering a trade because it turns back around I'm only out commissions.

why would you not just put the stop at 4 or 5 ticks ?

As far as as charts their answer is no answer, just that it happens, maybe my clock is off a bit so I synched it. maybe internet lagged, can't do anything about that. In other words who knows. I suspect it has to do with internet, which is ok here but not nearly as fast as it was in NY.

A SL that small to start a trade is stressful in my mind.

am a bit confused ,whats the benefit of puting the stop more far if you intend to close it at 4 ticks?

see how this trade goes,a long one, caught price bouncing off intersection with 50 cross, but candle was large. Waiting for price to adjust from large candle and see if it moves in our favor. Stop at structure low

Hey it's just the way I'm comfortable doing things. Plus it's not unusual for a trade to move down 4 or 5 ticks and not have a red candle form and close.

I had trouble with Ninjatrader a few days ago and found my clock was 6.9 seconds ahead.

I went to settings - date and time - synch now and that fixed everything.

I start my MNQ trades with a 40 tick stop loss. I don't think I have ever had to take a loss that big. But it is there and not closer because sometimes I get into a trade, and then price races 6 to 8 points against me only to race right back in my favor go on to hit my take profit.

I usually try to lose no more than 5 points on MNQ/NQ trades, but my stop loss is twice that to give the new trade a chance. After all, any winning trade depends upon other traders coming in after us and moving price to our profit target. Just because we see the trade that doesn't mean these other traders have seen it. You got to give them a chance to wake up to what our method is showing us

Yep checked my time this morning and it was fine.

Different kind of day today. Lately PA has been either messy and trendy. Today while PA is no clean it's not really messy either. So today I've let trades run a little more and Not jumped out super fast. First trade had a pullback that usually, I would've exited but I missed it while getting coffee. So take from there. 4 trades and 4 nice wins. I know I probably make some people a little crazy when I trade out of my normal box. But for me changing things a little once in awhile keeps my mind fresh. Ultimately I'll still trade my normal way 95+% of the time.

I manually followed along with this session, though there are a few areas where our charts look a little different.

can you explain why you did not take those that i circled ?

First circle entry was right near swing low and since there was no strong trend decided to pass.

Your time will be better spent working on tweaking this method to what would suit you better than worrying about trying to figure out how to follow and copy rocky trade for trade because I can you that no matter how hard you try it isn't going to happen. I chat with a couple of other FF members off line who don't ever post here but each trade a version of the rocky method. Neither one of them uses rocky's ADX and MACD. I have tried multiple different indicators to help me become consistent with entering the trades with the best probabilities for a profitable trade. I do not use either ADX or MACD.

In fact, at the moment, I am not using renko and I am not using the 8 ema bands.

I'm currently using a one minute Heiken Ashi, 34 ema bands, and a 50 period Williams%R (I use a Fast stochastic, which when you set D = 1, then the K acts like a %R but with a 0-100 scale instead of the Williams%R -100 to 0 scale.

For me, personally, I have a very, very difficult time watching ADX and using it as an entry trigger without making mistakes. It looks like it close above 25 but it was still slithgly below, and of course, the trade stops me out. Price looks like it was "bouncing" off the 25 as rocky says, and I get in, only to realize that ADX merely closed flat, or even slightly down, and again, I am in a trade by my own error.

My suggestion to you is try something else to help you get in. Try to find an indicator that is unambiguous to you ... two keep points ... it must be clear as day what you should, i.e. unambiguous, and two, it must be clear as day to YOU. It doesn't matter if it is clear to rocky or to me or to your barber. It must be clear and unambiguous to YOU.

Also, keep in mind that one reason we do like the renko is that it "smooths" price action out and shows us what is more likely the "true trend."

But because renko bars are not the actual price moment to moment, the renko bars can deceive us and hide a truly choppy market from us. The ES/MES today was very choppy and was swinging 10-12-14 points qiuickly high to low and looking at the renko, that really isn't clear.

And finally (and I know you didn't ask me for my opinion but I'm going to give it anyway lol_) I do not think MES/ES is the best instrument for someone new to this method.

6E and 6B are a little slower, but also have developed quite a bit more chop these days during the NY session than they were showing even just a few months ago. MNQ/NQ or MCL/CL are trendier and tend to offer larger profits and less backing and filling and chopping than the MES/ES.

I do like the adx to keep me out of side markets ,and I only enter once the candle closses and its clear and cant change anymore ,yeah that does give a bit of a late signal (I think rocky for the most part does the same )
not all signals work ,but like rocky says key is to keep it losses small
I do like to understand rockys way of thinking ,he has amazing skills on seeing when to take a signal ,and also when to get out(maybe also luck ,like taking a coffe in the right moment )
its not that I need to trade exacly like him (I dont ) but want to understand his thoght prosses ,as long as he is wiling to share
its nice that you have your own system with moving averege with 1 min chart ,but I defenitly like the renko more
